I have my car in for service and found out I need a couple engine mounts. I have seen some traffic in here that people are using the 430 mounts but my guy isn't able to confirm that this is a better option per his contacts but suggested maybe the CS ones. Anyone here that can vouch that these are better for my application in a regular 360? Thanks

Stand corrected , but isn't that the top gearbox mount that is the 430/CS stiffer/different construction option ?

Yes the 430 one is the wrong way to go so I am asking about the CS ones. I heard a rumor that they are the same as the Enzo mounts but it is not confirmed that this is a compound only similarity or performance enhancement or if it would even matter in my car ??

Naturally I want the ones that will last the longest! If there is a lot more vibration that gets put into the chassis I am less enthusiastic. A little would be OK.

So I am trying to find out if there is a reason to go there. The window to make up my mind is short.

I can tell you that when the engine mounts in my F355 died, I replaced tham with the Challenge mounts.

While you can tell that there is more vibration, it is hardly noticeable.

Thanks Mitch, The way these cars are I am not sure I want to be the guinea pig. I got 15 years out of the last set! If I knew for sure they would last the life of the car I would do it.

Here is an interesting discussion of using the CS mounts from the UK:

Engine and transmission mounts for 360

The discussion there is focused on gearbox mounts but also discusses engine mounts. Here is a quote from 360trev there:

"The regular road car bushes on the 360 Modena, Spider, 430 Coupe, 430 Spider, etc. are made from relatively soft, much more pliant material (rubber) since this transmits far less nvh (noise, vibration, harshness) from the engine/gearbox assembly back to the chassis. If you fit uprated bushes there will be both pro's and con's of doing it. Ferrari fitted uprated material bushes only on the Challenge and CS/Scud editions because they are the 'raw' models. The most obvious negative will be more vibration felt in the cabin. Of course doing just the gearbox one on its own doesn't seem worthwhile, particularly if your not considering doing all the bushes at the same time.

    Pro's
Less movement under hard off the line acceleration/hard braking/cornering.
A more direct feel and reduces slack on standard mounts
More precise steering (when you upgrade the wishbone bushes)

    Con's
More vibration and harshness is transmitted through the chassis and into the cabin.
Ride comfort gets more harsh and crashy on everyday roads
Bushes can squeal over rough surfaces."

I'm having the same work done in about three weeks, and I think I will stay with the standard mounts, unless your research shows a real advantage to the CS mounts.
