I just wanted to share some success. I recently was researching diagnostic tools to read/delete airbag lights on the 360. I had inadvertently tripped a code due to starting the car with the seatbelts out. I was completing a belt service and wanted to be sure everything was OK before reassembly. Of course this led to more work by tripping the airbag light!

Anyway, most of my research was pointing to very expensive OEM tools, or high end aftermarket scanners. I ran across a post of someone using the Autel AP200 on a 430. I contacted Autel and they stated it was not supported....but for $50 I figured it was worth the risk.....

Guess what! It reads, and deleted the airbag codes on a 2001 360.

Link to exactly what I bought:

Please note, the $50 covers one car, so you need to purchase additional software if you are using this on something other then whatever you set the scanner up for. But considering the alternatives......its ok with me!

Hopefully it helps others maintain these cars!

Yes - this has been discussed in other threads where I was the one recommending it - but thank you for adding to the success stories and adding another data point

It is plug and play with nothing else to do to delete the dash airbag light? My warn light has been on since having the pass side seat belt reel was repaired after the signal wires were cut.
So order it and it is ready to go after choosing the make of the car?

Yes, you have one brand for free, and once you select it it will work. You do need to create a login on the app (on the phone or tablet) and that brand will be attached to your login.
It can read and delete codes from other modules too, not just airbag. What it cannot do, for example is "special functions" like activate the pump for bleeding F1 and such.

That you need the thinkdiag2 as a low cost solution as you know already :)

Are you saying to get a Thinkdiag2 in addition to the Autel?

Unfortunately the launch products don't have their software correct on certain things in a Ferrari 360 ..so yes

If you want one piece of equipment ..you need to go up in the Autel line or a knock off of a Autel like otofix (someone here showed me.this line)

For a higher end (but still affordable), I was pretty sold on the Launch products. There Tech support claimed it could perform the trans service, airbags, and was bi-directional. It has some other cool features that can be added on, TPMS, scope, and other tools. Your looking at $2600 for the middle of the road pro-tool thou. (from an actual authorized seller) They were very responsive and helpful. The other vendors ignored me emails/calls, or just said "No". The product support is really what makes these tools worth the cash. Otherwise, buy a cheap Chinese copy and muddle thru it yourself. I've done that with other cars. It's possible, but very time consuming.

I'll likely go down that road when I need to replace the clutch.

Unfortunately the launch products don't support the airbag system (software issue it seems) on the 360 or 430

That being said I haven't tried the top of line 919 ..it has a completely different dongle .. maybe someone with that or an ultra (same dongle) can try

I spoke to the Launch Product support supervisor, Ryan, and he recommended the x431 Torque Link or the Throttle3, specifically stating the airbags are supported. He warned that Launch products sold for other markets would not have full capabilities, or functions. Maybe that is what you have experienced. I went in circles a lot with the different models that are available, there are many versions of the Launch products, from a lot of vendors......I wonder how many are fakes.....

Otherwise, you should give them a call, they seem to stand behind there product....as long as it was ordered from one of their authorized vendors.

Although I have heard and known that before ( china vs USA) , I still see coverage lists and actual coverage to be different - it is listed on the menus etc but won't connect etc ( air bag, TCU, ABS)
That being stated I haven't tested all the models ( USA vs china ) but it does look like under the covers it is the same software - down to the thinkdiag2
I hope someone on here has a US version of the Throttle etc and can chime in - it would be great to know
I hope that that was all is was/is .. a bad cloning process

BTW - note the thottle3 does have that different / more capable dongle as I was saying the 919 / ultra has .. If i was a betting man that will be the key - since software seems same .. communications is the issue on some of these coverage discrepancies

Also ..now we starting to talk bigger money 4k plus

My personal experience; and this is probably just related to the ECU's that are in my car (2005 F430), is that the Launch X431 did nothing more than the 100$ Thinkdiag2 did .

Now that the TCU is out of the car (manual conversion), it has the same value as the 50$ Autel.

I understand your comments ..but so that we are clear here for others - the 50 Autel doesn't have the same functions as the thinkdiag2 ( Airbag reset aside) - one is a reader and the other has more activations for other ECU's in the car
That being said since the 360 doesn't have many activations like lets say a VW so you may be making a good point

And since we love toys, the only solution is to buy them all!
