Damn ND...you are really smart! Thanks for breaking this down so a billybob can understand it.

Thanks, but I'm not feeling very smart! Not anymore. My 5 year old has just about convinced me that Kindergarten would kick my rear. I told her tonight why I didn't want her to do something and she gave me two factual reasons why I was wrong.

Had me apologizing to her and her mother for most of the night!

I think it's her vitamins (so I'm going to start palming some of hers!).

What brand dyno and what number will be used for the RWHP to crankHP conversion?

Let me know if vitamins help...

Any update on the 348 throttle body project?

    Did it work?

Was there an increase in bhp?

    :D

Nice increase, but no credible dyno results. Gonna put a motec on it soon, as the "Perfect Power" units were just too hard to tune with the stacks on. Right now, I'm just running it on the stock 355 airboxes with MAFs and Motronic. Been distracted by the Challenge car, but that'll change soon and I'll get back to the project. Burned thru 12 dyno hours trying to get the perfect power units going, got burned out, almost ready to get back to it.

Yeah, we need to deflect some attention to Bruce. ;) How about it, dude. Let's dyno that beast and see if you really got anything after all that work. In short - 355 TB's, stock fuel delivery, 24lb injectors, very free flowing air box ( like none!), some weird black ops ND programmed chips, no cats and a modified single can exhaust (hack sawed the old one off). Man, those shade tree guys are something, eh? :D :D :D

P.S. Bruce's car pulls me on the freeway, so I know he's got something. Of course he drives like a moonshine smuggler in a stolen car with ole smokey on his tail. :D

Not much to report now. The Perfect Power brains just didn't do the job of converting a maf reading to a map reading. Maybe they would if I spent many hours programming them, but without a baseline (they weren't able to provide one), I just lost patience. I'm gonna go to a Motec for fuel management. I really wanted to keep the budget down brain-wise, but I think I'll use the motec as it's a known quantity. Buying the Challenge car has proven a large distraction as well. It's for sale now, so maybe that'll end soon. So, no updates. Still making plenty of power, but lean. I need unlimited resources.

You need to come down with me to the speed shop to buy those fuel line adapter parts for between the fuel filter and the fuel pump. This should free up line restriction for flow and just might end your lean condition. It's worth a try, dude.

For you dude, anything! :) Of course, you need to make sure you use the 3" diameter cans and not the narrower ones, cuz that's what I have. If the fittings are the same, I'll just get the same parts as me.

OK, so it's been a long time since I worked on this. The car runs good on the stock brain with the air boxes, but I'm still determined to run it with stacks. Sooooo, I recently acquired a Haltec F10X to run the injectors. In keeping with my stated intention to do this on a working guy's budget, I acquired the Haltec from my newest closest personal friend and hero for $150. My current concerns as it applies to the Haltec. 1. Will the ignition run if there is no signal from the MAF? 2. Will the ignition run without a ground signal from the injectors? If the ignition won't fire without a signal from the injectors, I'll have to get a new ignition brain. Any input is appreciated.

Yah know Bruce, you should hit up Andy. He isn't using MAFS and if I recall correct he is running his ITB settup of the signal from the TPS.

Should you need a fuel/ignition brain, I've been using Htech E6X which controls both fuel and ignition but won't do full sequential EFI if you want that . . .new they cost $800 plus harness. It should read your existing crank trigger but don't know if it will fire the 348 coils without an external box i.e. MSD . . . some of the direct fire coils have an ignitor built into them these days eliminating the need for the MSD/external ignitors . . . I use a MSD DIS4 to fire my coil on plugs.
