Tubi shields are aluminum unless you are ordering Inconel manifolds (not available for 355, but for F430 etc).

Well ultimately I was able to get Tubi for much less than list price- the car is in the shop now for engine out. Can’t wait to get it back...

Car manufactured autumn 1996 as a model year 1997 - bronze guides (unfortunately....)
Not changed them and no problem with oil consumption. Note that 1-2 liters per 1000 km are in accordance with owners manual. I have 96.000 km on the clock, so....
Ca 20% of the bronze guides are prognozed to fail that gives 80% still ok.
Both my headers are changed to remanufacutured originals and those works fine plus aftermarket steel cats and sport exhaust. (Challenge)

They are thin wall stainless steel - not alloy. Quite stiff too.

I am wondering if the missing "plate" (not sure of name) should be replaced on my 1995 spyder.
It has brand new Tube headers, Capristo stage 3 exhaust. It seems to be that the heat can escape easier without that plate, but I may be wrong - it may actually block heat getting in the engine bay? Image Unavailable, Please Login

'95, valve guides replaced in 2008, factory manifolds but original cats replaced with test pipes. Still have the original ceramic cats and they're intact.

Yes, you are missing the main heat shield that goes between the muffler and the airboxes

    Yup thanks I am aware
My question was whether it is worth replacing - more or less heat with my setup with the shield in place?

It is worth replacing for sure. It will reduce heat soak of the intake boxes. Hotter intake air temperatures will mean less power.

355's are woefully under-shielded to begin with, so the few heat shields that are in place are especially important.

Pretty sure you could offer them $150 and have this one. Replace the reflective shield material with something newer and better from DEI, fix the cracked gelcoat, respray black, and it's better than new.
