I'm hoping someone can help me out... I have a 95 F355 Spider, and everything on my HVAC panel is working as it should, EXCEPT for when i change the direction of the air flow in the cabin. It always blows toward the windshield and footwell no matter where I put the dial on the HVAC panel. The temperature works and adjusts as it should, as does the power of the fan and blower. I jsut can't get the ventilation to change direction. I already swapped the cruddy "recirculation pin" with the brass one from Hill Engineering (it was broken, but not the cause of the problem) Any suggestions on what to look at next? Thanks in advance Petey
Have a look at the operation of the motor reference #12 on the part diagram. You can get access to it by removing the passenger airbag. Check if the motor receive some voltage depending on the position of the dial Check if the flap is moving freely once you have removed the motor ... Dear everyone who loves f355. so I found the air direction actuator broken.the picture below As I opened it the gear of white color broken. I tried to fix the gear to order new one for order made. Then ive for the new gear here in japan. Then i assembled the new gear into the case. The actuator worked dine and normally. In addition i used the pin vice in order to bolt on the actuator case. See below. Finally as the actuator back the car then works fine. Thank you. Ken Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
That is the big question where we order the gear from, typically we need pitch and other things to order online and the shaft has to be right etc. Finding the gear is a big deal can you share please. Plenty of threads showing the dry brittle OEM ones, my gear teeth actually flaked off with my fingernail they got so brittle over time. Please share specifics on the gear and where to get it, part number, site etc? Thanks! ギアの詳細と入手先、部品番号、サイトなどを教えてください。 ありがとうございました

Hello Takeya I would also like to purchase this gear for spare. I have a broken motor gear and would like to fix to keep a complete spare motor assembly. Please advise how to purchase Regards Paul [email protected]
Hi Takeya, We are all so grateful that you have been able to obtain a 3D copy of this impossible to get motor gear!! I would also like to purchase one to hold as a spare if available. Please email me on: [email protected] Regards, Trevor
I also would like a gear, possibly two. Currently my HVAC distribution is NOT working...So most likely I need one....And I would like to have a spare. [email protected]
I too. [email protected] For you other guys, just be aware that there are two different actuators for the recirc flap. One type uses this gear, the other does not.
Note that recirc flap actuators are still available and new complete units aren’t much more than Takeya’s gear. https://www.ebay.com/c/2245873054
Thanks. I don't need one as I actually picked up what was probably the last one around a couple of years ago. Brand new in a Ferrari box for under $100. I figure if the gear was $5 or $10 I get one to repair my old unit. Anything much more than that and I'd punt. Since this is just a run to stop actuator I'm sure it would be simple to adapt other actuator to do the job. They can be had for under $20 so a cheap experiment.
Takeya is quoting AUD$360 for Australian buyers plus $28 postage. AUD$360 is currently around €230, U$276, £201, CAN$352, ¥29,000... This will clearly deter a lot of folks from buying one as a spare. Ferrari ownership in Japan is exceedingly expensive, so I guess Japanese owners wouldn’t hesitate buying Takeya’s gear. It’s also mentioned on the forum that a pair of new actuators (recirc and direction) were on sale in Japan for $4000.... in which case, Takeya’s gears are an absolute bargain.
I pulled my motor out and tested it, thankfully it’s operational and the gears are working. Nailed it down to the A/C ecu. Ordered the chips to have it repaired. In the meantime I manually powered the motor to be forward facing as opposed to the defrost setting.
Did you monitor the internal potentiometer resistance on the bench, Elliott? Any deadspots? Image Unavailable, Please Login For general info: rotation limit = 180 degrees motor direction is achieved via polarity reversal on motor wires I got 2277 ohms across pins 2 & 3 (green and yellow)
Hello. Oh it cause of ecu and so on. Mine was broken so changed gear. Ive left broken for over 15years. But now i have been repaired and completely working. Thank you
