Incidentally, I have my original OEM set here. The RHS is the one that sprang a leak. LHS still fine. If someone wants to use them as the basis of a re-build (or if someone's LHS has gone and could use a temporary fix) I'm open to offers on them. Suit 5.2 of course.
Tubi are the only ones that are faithful to the original design, only light years ahead in quality. They will not change the original sound the 355 is famous for in any significant way. The cats and exhaust will have more effect than the headers in that regard.
Apparently there is a place in Florida that makes Fabspeed for a reasonable price, getting the info in the morning.
I don’t want to knock Fabspeed, because a lot of people like them, but IMO going to 4-1 with no heat shields just to save a few bucks is a mistake. 355 already lacks midrange, and 4-1 makes it worse.
This old guy around our way made a great system up for the Abarth, he does race car systems from scratch, Give him a bell you never know, $350 for Ethan’s car from headers back Penrith City Exhaust 2/17 Peachtree Rd, Penrith NSW 2750 (02) 4721 3838 https://g.co/kgs/9NzPoK
Try Ferrparts or Eurospares for pricing. Lots of rip-off pricing out there. Gotta know where to look . Anyone have thoughts on the Mille Miglia exhaust for the 355?
It’s probably not a good idea, I’m quite shy in public and most people consider me rather awkward to be around
I spoke to a few Race guys Steve that are engine builders and fabricators and they told me the 4 -1 would be a better all round system to run..In the end it was a choice between Fabspeed and Tubi...I went with the 4-1 system...I still haven’t driven it so I guess whom knows?.....
That's fair enough, Gary. I've got nothing against the Fabspeed. In fact my mechanic recommended I get them when my OEM's started leaking. He had installed several sets and was very happy with the results. I'm not surprised that race guys prefer the 4-1. It does give a little more top end (where race cars are going to spend a lot of time), but it does it at the expense of mid-range (where road cars spend most of their time. Well, mine anyway. I very rarely rev it out near the limit). It was that and also questions over cooling - back then (2015) it seemed everyone who ordered Fabspeed were then having to go off and get them coated which may not be the case any more - that convinced me to buy Tubi. Regardless, they're both very good products.
I got mine coated Steve which all adds up price wise...It will be interesting to see how they perform ( maybe next year if I’m lucky )...I’ll put the car on a Dyno to see...if they don’t perform on the 2.7 I’ll go Tubi....
