I've tried on another subforum without any luck, so I'll ask here:
Why does Brembo list both a 300x24mm brake rotor and a 310x28mm rotor for the 355, both front and rear, and what are the actual parts on a real car?

P.S.-I'm still wondering if anyone out there knows the diameters of the pistons on a 360 brake caliper...

Probably for "normal" and challenge versions of the car....

That is correct. The 355 Challenge rotors on all four corners are the same size and configuration as the 360 standard front rotors.

38MM AND 34MM. On the front at least.
    Hope that helps.

    Actually Mike, I believe 360 rotors are 330mm diameter X 28mm thick.
Roughly crosses over with 13 inch diameter X 1.1 inch thick US rotors.
You guys are on to something. Keep digging!

Ooh, it's all a matter of where you ask the question!

I do know that the 360 has 330's on the front and maybe rear, I'm not sure if that's what was on a 355 challenge, but I do recall hearing something along those lines.

I'm trying to put together a balanced brake system and hoping to piece it together out of a couple of OEM's parts bins...

Any more info gladly accepted! I've heard that both front and rear are the same working area, just different because of the parking brake hat on the rear, but it still doesn't explain what's listed on the Brembo site.

Thanks for the info on the 360 fronts, anyone know about the rears?

I'm sorry, my memory was faulty. The front 360 *Challenge* rotors are the same as the 355 *Challenge* rotors all around.

Easiest conversion is using 355 calipers and rotors with adapters to mount the calipers to the 308 uprights. I think the 355 rotors will work with stock 16 inch wheels. 360s will not. Way wrong offset on the rotors. 360 Calipers can be made to work but NOT the rotors. They are major heavy as well.
I think I read a thread that QV London has a bolt on kit to mount a complete 355 brake system to a 308. They supply all the adapters, you supply the rotors and calipers. You will lose the parking brake if you go this route and include the rear brakes in your upgrade.

    Good luck,
    John

The 355 uses 310 x 28 on front and 300 x 24 on the rear. The challenge uses 355 x 32 all around. The 360 uses 330 x 28 all around, and the 360 challenge uses 355 x 32 front, 330 x 28 rear. None of these calipers/rotors will give you a brake system with the same balance as the stock setup. I do not know what the kit from london consists of, but the piston sizing of a 355 caliper will lead to the same long pedal and balance issues associated with the Brembo setup. If it's priced right and you don't mind playing with different pad compounds front to rear, it could be ok. Our kit is balanced, and fits inside the factory 16" wheels. If it is something you think you might consider, check this thread

Is that the right way to reference a thread? Never done it before!

    Thanks,

    Martin
