How often does the 355 have problems clearing speed humps or speed bumps? It would really suck to buy a 355 and not be able to drive it home because of the speed humps in my neighborhood.

Did some thread searching, but couldn't find anything specific. Best I could find, nose is ~6.5" high and 26" back to the tire. Which case I can go measure humps and do the math. But what about departure clearances? Will the diff pumpkin have an issue?

    TIA

I'm not sure what size of speed bumps you have but if you maintain the car at stock ride height it should go over any normal speed bumps.
I have no issues with my 355 and have also owned Vettes, NSX's and have gone over speed bumps with no issues and none is better or worse.
You have to remember that ride height is dictated by bumper height legislation and as a result all cars in North America have similar limitations.
The only exception I can think of is Lamborgini......which has a lower height but the suspension is electronically raised/lowered at the front for entering parking lots, ect.

As for the clutch cover .....it is never a clearence issue.

Where I coach baseball--the park has several larger than normal speed bumps---I take it slow and try to cross tham at an angle and have never scraped with the 355...

+1. Caddy cornering works in almost every situation, and if something's too steep, you can usually tell by looking before you attempt the transition.

Cool. Thanks guys. Same principals as other sports cars. My wife's M3 has a pretty low lip, worse than my 911 was. The overhang on the 355 is what scared me the most.

The problem with the 355 is not its height but its long overhang.......approaching at an angle is a must.

I scrape maybe 10% of the time entering / leaving my driveway if I'm not angled enough. Titanium skid plates working like a charm!

most 355's you find will have an already scraped underside, unless it a fresh respray/repair. I used to cringe everytime I scraped, but now it doesn't bug me that much. I even whacked the underside at about 20mph, and all that happened was the fiberglass(?) hunks got a little chewed up, no damage to the rest of the bumper. buy it, dude! These cars are like no other in the world.

Speedbumps have never been an issue with the 355. Only some driveways pose a problem, but the way some of them are designed even a stock Camry would scrape.
Just go at an angle into driveways, and then back out if possible.

My front end is less than 5 inches from the ground and I have no problem with speed bumps. It's the angle of driveways and roads that creates problems. I have the aluminum horseshoes on mine and they do a great job keeping the spoiler from getting scrapes.
