Does anyone know if the 346 TS challenge uses the same roll cage as the hardtop?

I ask because of the tight clearance by the targa latches.

I'm quick to get out the chop saw and welder and dont want to kill a original OMP cage

    Any info greatly appreciated

    :)

I believe there is only one cage design for all 348 challenge cars whether TB or TS.

You can see this in photos of some TS cars with their tops off during racing.

I concur with Robb. I had one of those cages in my TS converted to challenge then converted to full race. OMP cage is more for fashion than safety. It is way underdeveloped by today's standard. There are upgrades to it that destroy originality but make you SCCA legal to race in 2015. I also have a plate that can be welded to the rear bulkhead for the harnesses if you need. It is not Factory but factory look

    +1

SCCA cage is welded not bolted. So it depends on serious use or aesthetics...

Yes fully aware of welded cages I have a real nice tubing bender and can make up to a 3 inch cage if needed, welding is one of my favorite pass times :)
Looking for original right now, I will remove the interior and try to squeeze it in

Have the SS seats also just need to come up with a belt system, I think a walk down to Simpson for something

I did notice they have all kinds of brackets under the carpets when I had the seats out today

FBB, I got my OK to build in the back yard, not as big as I wanted but will have more then enough room to service 2-3 cars with breathing room
    Town is insane

Awesome! Make sure there is room for Bruce's and my barstool and our small refrigerator for our cokes and beer.
