The 348's two power transistors (one per coil) are each Ferrari part number 137511, Bosch part number 0227100200, and are available at Eurospares for $600.

However, they are also used on the 1995 Porsche Carrera 2/4, same Bosch part number, and available on this Porsche parts site for $87: http://germanparts.com/AllParts/AllPartNumbers_1085.html

That Porsche part number is 993-602-706-01-M14 and is listed for $130 here: http://www.pelicanparts.com/cgi-bin/ksearch/PEL_search.cgi?command=show_part_page&please_wait=N&make=POR&model=911L&section=ELignt&page=2&bookmark=9&part_number=993-602-706-01-M14

    348 Phase Sensor

This is actually pretty reasonably priced for around $105 from EuroSpares and $95 from D McCann (and probably the same or less from our guy Daniel at Ricambia who has superior service), Ferrari part #146312 (early 348's used 137266 but 146312 replaces it cleanly).

    The Bosch part # is 0 232 101 006.

But, this part is comprised of only 3 pieces: the hall effect vane Seimens part # HKZ101, a metal back plate, and a plastic electric connector with 3 metal male pins inside.

So if you want to re-use your backing plate and electric connector, you can order the HKZ-101 electronic part (it just unscrews from the backing plate) by using two cross reference numbers.

    ZD1900 from jaycar electronics ($11): http://www.jaycarelectronics.com/productView.asp?ID=ZD1900&CATID=&keywords=ZD%2D1900&SPECIAL=&form=KEYWORD&ProdCodeOnly=&Keyword1=&Keyword2=&pageNumber=&priceMin=&priceMax=&SUBCATID=

    or

    CYHME301 ($8): http://www.cy-sensors.com/CY-HME-GTS%202004.pdf

Also: the HKZ101 part just happens to be on the phase sensors of 79-85 VW's, 78-83 Audi's, and 79-82 Porsche's, among others (also on motorcycles such as 1981 BMW R80G/S).

Definitely go with RicambiAmerica. Besides great service, Daniel gets you the right part (and he's got a good OEM price on this unit).

On the other hand, if he's ever out of stock and you don't mind moving a couple of bolt-on/off components (like the pulley) from your OEM compressor over to a generic unit, then you can save a few bucks here: http://www.a-aironline.com/detail.aspx?ID=320

I'm pretty sure that is an FK head on that compressor which isn't compat. Can you confirm?

BUT, to follow your lead, YES! you can put a 5-groove, 6-groove, 7-groove pulley on a compressor and be just fine with a 348 or 355.

Ferrari 348 part #130975 ANGULAR SPEED SENSOR (BOSCH # 0261210029)

Is equivalent to Volvo #1367645 (handy for buying on a Saturday in towns that don't have Ferrari dealerships).

Thanks to julian_blk348 who sent me an old Ferrari brake pad I can now confirm that BMW wear sensors will fit Ferrari pads.

Some judicious filling might have to be done to Porterfield pads to get them to fit.

The BMW sensor is a two wire sensor while the Ferrari is a one wire sensor.

The Ferrari turns the light on when the wire is exposed to the rotor completing the circuit to ground, but the end piece that goes into the brake pad is the same size.

All that is necessary is to cut the original Ferrari wire close to the bayonet end, cut the BMW sensor wire to the proper length, twist the two wires on the BMW sensor together and splice the new BMW wire to the original Ferrari wire with solder and heat-shrink tubing.

BMW Part #: 34 35 1 181 337 is one of several that will work. All that matters is the brake pad end is the same, and that the wire is long enough. (Ferrari wire is about 16 in. long)

"The 348's $155 Ferrari speedometer pulse generator # 116987 (mounted on transmission) may be superceded by the newer Maserati # 393650106, which retails for less than $50 at www.EuroSpares.co.uk. "

I got my Maserati pulse generator today and it fits the 348 just fine. Incidently, when the pulse generator is not working, the ECU cripples performance.

    Thanks No Doubt.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, Phil!

I was pretty sure that the less expensive Maserati pulse sensor would work (the Eurospares web site lists that part as the **upgrade** for our old Ferrari sensor), but I wasn't completely certain because I hadn't personally tried it on my 348.

So thank you again ... for confirming that the newer, cheaper sensor works!

Again and again Plugzit's 348 Parts Interchange thread is saving the 348 Brotherhood money on our maintenance/repairs.

Its not an upgrade. Its identical in every way except it comes in a blue box. Even the stamped on numbers are the same.

The 355 FUEL INJECTORs for the F355 2.7 MOTRONIC (BOSCH # 0280155003) are part #149316. They retail for $650+ each at Ferrari, Eurospares, etc.

Just $99 at Rockauto.com! http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/catalog.php and search for parts on the Bosch #0280155003

The 348's fuel injectors are part #142434 (Bosch # 0280150731): $113 at RockAuto ($96 each if you want the generic STANDARD MOTOR PRODUCTS Part # FJ162), and rebuilt injectors (GB REMANUFACTURING Part # 85420117) for $30 each if you send in your old injector cores to RockAuto (or $41 each without shipping your injector cores to them).

Yup. Parts that sell for more than $650 can be had new or rebuilt for as little as $30 each.
