348 Market

I may have seen the 348 at FoNE. There was one there when I dropped off my 360 last week. Two others have been on sale since last fall asking 89 to 92. They have another one going for over 100. I made 14K on my insurance total last month. (63,750) 16K miles, repaint from crazy art dolphins in blue and gold. No books or cover, top tray of tools and tire bottle missing. In fact, I still have tool kit at home since trunk was jammed in crash. Insurance got by bazooka tube, I got the toolkit.

 

Congrats on sealing the deal with the 360. FoNE has had a handful of 348s through their floor over the past year. The current one they have listed at $126k (sn 88054) was just sold at the Barrett Jackson auction at Mohegan Sun for $77k + 10% buyers premium this past weekend. I wish that I had gotten to see it in person since it sounds immaculate. A collector car broker friend of mine had been in touch on the other one last fall on my behalf, and he was told that it had just been sold in the neighborhood of $90k, don't recall the exact figure. Wasn't aware of a third that they had, but may have missed or forgotten.


On another note... you don't happen to have any photos of your pre-repaint blue and gold dolphin-adorned 348, do you?

yea. the one on ebay is white / tan, the BJ one is red and white.

 

Pretty cool color 348 Spider. Previously from the Boston area as of last fall in a somewhat neglected state.

Pfft... judging by the general condition of this vehicle in the photos - which also leads to assume realistically that a major service is (over)due - $56,000 is waaaaay optimistic! Plus the giant stereo speakers behind the seat... the added electronics in the center console... this car is a bit of a mess.

 

I don't disagree. I wish whomever had it before had a less steep driveway entrance...that drivers front is scraped to hell.

The ad says it was previously owned by Miles Davis. That might explain the sound system.

 

So, like most people, I've heard of Miles Davis, but didn't really know anything about him outside of his legendary status as a jazz musician. I looked him up, and have "Kind of Blue" playing in the background. He's a jazz god. If this is indeed his Ferrari, which he would have bought at age 64, just one year before his death, then to a rock enthusiast it would be like one of Eric Clapton's Ferraris.

Just to add a bit of information from a Canadian perspective and a 348 ts owner. I just looked on autotrader.ca and there were 16 348's listed for sale in Canadian dollars. The price range was between 60K and 139K (asking) Thanks , JGW

 

I see what you did there.

 

Mine are on backwards...... At first only the rears on backwards (intended to have them changed) and recently got new tyres on the front and now they are also fitted backwards

There is another 348 here in southeast Queensland that matches mine and was not picked up by the judges at concours
