Hi, my 348 has started to judder and lose power. It seems to happen when accelerating anything more than gently. Worse up hills. I had it before after a new battery but after allowing the car to idle for a while and taking it for a run it cleared. No joy this time. If I push it harder the 1/4 engine warning light comes on. After decelerating it soon goes off. It has been suggested it could be a cat sensor or caused by low fuel in the tank at some point in the recent past.
    Any suggestions welcome.

Well when one would like some input, best to give as much information as possible. You have no profile, no mileage, no history, vague symptoms.

This could be a myriad of things, please detail the problem, do a few searches for possible similar posts for some idea of how to better word the problem for our crystal balls to function best. It could be a problem which needs to be parked asap then taken to a mechanic. Do you have a local guy?

Have you checked for stored fault codes in the Motronics (assuming that your 348 has the 2.7 system and the ability to download codes)?

You mentioned the new battery: have you re-initialized the system properly?

Is the warning light for "check engine", or for "slow down"?

+1, re-initialize. Try turning the battery switch off for about 2 minutes, then turn on and start the car. Let it idle for 15 minutes, without touching the accelerator, and with all accessories turned off. Read No Doubt's 348 Primer, and you will be a better man. Good luck!
