Wow, what a unique car, any more photos to share with us? What are the main differences in driving experience?
With reff. to the 348TB i had for 3 years. The GTC is just so nimble and tight in the way it drives. The lower weight makes a very big diff. almost 200kg. On top of that the performance is much better. Its just a more complete package. The Viking
Hello again! Yes, streetlegal here in Denmark. Only 50 were build. 3 to 5 of them were raced in Le Mans and gr.3 in Italy. where it had some succes. Today they are very hard to find...never for sale. Spareparts can be a problem. Bumper front/rear and doors are made of CF. They are not all alike, mine has an ing.bonnet in CF....not std competezione. All 50 of them have a special exhaust manifold add. an xtr 10HP I dont think you can buy that part anymore. So don`t brake anything. The Viking
That is really sharp looking! Does all of that luggage fit in the car at the same time? (got a picture of it in the car??)
It all fits in. Taylor made from Ferrari. Never been used. One thing is for sure, none of them will ever find there way to any airport baggage convayer. The Viking
I love that first pic of the steering wheel. If you subscribe here you can have that as your avatar!!!
The 348 raced in le mans is named 348 competizione corsa and there are of course some differences ... I'm not 100% sure about but only 11 cars should exist.
Fantastic find. I could never understand why they didn't bring that into the U.S. (instead we got the S.S.). There is a great section in "The Original Ferrari V8" on this model. Unfortunately this book is almost impossible to find (being long out of print) and is generally very expensive when found. I had my Administrative Assistant perform a high resolution of the 348 section of this book so I could send it to my very good friend Mike (AceMaster) who owns a beautiful 348 S.S. If you send me your e-mail address, I'll send you this section as attachments in multiple e-mails. One caveat is that many international severs have very strict e-mail size limits and, as these files are very large due to their high resolution, the e-mails may be "bounced" back to me. But we can give it a try if you so desire. BTW, the wheels and steering wheel on this car are my favorites.
So the GT and SS have many of the same OEM components?? Forgive my lack of knowledge here but this is the first time I have heard of the 348 GT....
Welcome to Fchat, lovely car....mine is #40, one of the RHD models 50 road cars made and all were street legal in the countries they were sold (European market only, though 3 RHD models went to Asia), 11 race cars made and prepared by Michelotto and then two more specially built for LeMans called GTC/LM's (both raced at Le Mans, it was the 1st Ferrari in 12 years to finish, came 11th overall), so 63 in total combining all road and race versions. More information here http://348gtc.com/ There are a number of inaccuracies (there are 50 not 56, there are 11 RHD versions not 8, the changes made to the car were not purely cosmetic) regarding the GTC in Bluemel's book but it still makes for an interesting read No the GTC and SS didn't share any components (as far as I am aware) other than those that were common to the standard 348 tb of the same year (94')
