What size of battery will I need to a '92 348ts? I thought about just going ahead & ordering one rather than letting the car be stuck on jack stands in the driveway. (i'm working in a very tight area)

I recently bought a 34R battery and it didn't fit well at all in my 95 Spyder 348. It bounces around between the brackets. It's not wide enough but it is deep enough.

Is that the correct fit? Play on the sides?

Seems to work very well, no complaints

Thank you for this. I looked at the specs of the SC34DU and it has the same physical dimensions as the battery I bought: identical.

So my question is this: is the battery supposed to be a little small for the area it sits in? Mine has about an inch of play on each side before it hits the metal brackets.

If you modify the rear most hold-down on the battery tray and still have the front retaining bracket, then the Interstate MT-34R battery does not move left/right or fore and aft. I welded a short 6" length of about 120 degrees of 3/8" tubing and it fits perfectly in the recess of the battery. My next battery will check if the small mercedes battery tang will fit under the tab of the tray. And it is a pain to remove the fender liner to access the tray but it is worth it. YMMV.

I just bought an Oddysey battery. Holy crap it must be a good one because it weighs a ton.

On my 1990, taking off the wheel and inner fender was definitly the way to go.

I just got this car; drove it 500 miles the day I bought it. I wasn't sure if I liked it but took it for a drive yesterday. I could not stop smiling!

Did you get the Odyssey 34R? I was debating between that and PC1200. It’s 49.5lbs vs 38.2lbs, 134 min vs 78 min capacity. I ending up ordering the PC1200 today.

I installed an Optima Red Top and did have to modify the tray to install the bolt for the hold down. I also upgraded the bolt while I was in there.
I have pics somewhere (Probably on my IG)
