Put the LS7 in it with a supercharger on top. That will give you about 700hp and be pretty light as well. I guess you will need a new tranny too! ;O) Scott

Renegade has been combining 911 transaxles to american V8s as long as I can remember...... it only has to be flipped upside down for mid-engine use..... :)

Looks like an adapter plate , crankshaft machining to accept the clutch shaft & away we go . That Maz' engine would be sweet!

I think a TR driveline will fit.

Goth, the problem will be the length of the G50, or 930. Kennedy makes the adapters and clutch set, I use them in my GT40. Scott

    Texas of course!
Here, this is practically a Ferrari Italian engine with 100 more HP and no more belts for a reasonable price? Thought it would be neat, and of course everything is bigger in Texas, so a 4.2L 348 would fit right in :)

OK, I now got a very good price on one, hmmm. Maybe it will be easier to add 100hp 80HP to the 348 motor. Get Stooges to work some mods with me :)

It would be too much of a "Texas special" with a Chevy engine, lol. People already keep asking if its a "real" Ferrari now, no one will believe it with an LS motor, lol.

I was thinking this would be a reliablity/drivability upgrade, and still have a "ferrari" heart in it. The intake plenum would need to be switched around and would have to work out something for the tranny. Can get a complete engine for about $6K, have ran across more then one in the past year in this price range give or take a grand or so.

Why not...IIRC the 2002+ maser coupe is the F360 motor with maser intake plenum markings. It would could cost 20k to make a hot 348 motor with questionable reliability. The 360 motor is proven I'd go with that and then do the conversion to mate the gearbox. For 20k you can buy the whole maser couple drive it for a while and then pull the motor and sell the hunk cheap for parts.

See, that is what I was thinking, and somehow the maser engines are all around for much less money then just about any ferrari block. Withe the tubi and no cats should sound great, plus a tune should be over 400hp/340/tq

I think your right Goth, and how about this ......No belts, chains....Hmmmm. I'm confident with a tune and open exhaust and intake, would give a more reliable engine then 348 or 355 motor, with ~420hp and 350tq, grunt coming in nice and low, and likely can spin it up to 7500rpm. Should also give me more then 22mpg highway, lol. Thinking should make it a low 4 seconds to 60mph car, depending on gearing and low 12 second quarter mile times, if not high 11s. As every average Joe thinks any Ferrari, especially one that looks like this one, should be insane fast, could always add some of fatbillybobs' laughing gas too:)

Seriously though, does anyone know how these engines compare in physical size and overall shape?

I'm planning on taking the engine out of my 348 and putting in something with a lot more power in the next few months. New engine produces 480bhp (figures from an engine dyno).

Hopefully have it up and running by end of this year.

Sorry, I'm not really that 'technical' when it comes to mechanics.

I'll get back to you if you ever want to know anything biology-related. ;)

What engine are you using? Would that change the sound of the induction or exhaust?

    All the best,
    Andrew.
