Very cool!! Miss you guys! :o:o
Let's have another get together! Maybe something easier, like lunch in the OC. That would so much easier to organize.
Would be great to see everyone again. Just recouping from surgery right now but a little later in the fall would be dandy.
Consider this: it's already set up for us . . . kinda, somewhat, mostly. The FCA is celebrating its 50th anniversary. See here: https://www.fca-sw.org/event_reg/fcasw_50relay_12e.html. They are running a 599 on a rally around the states. The link at the top of the page lists the SoCal events. This is the home page: http://www.fca-sw.org/. Yeah, it costs a couple bucks. Dee and I signed up for the reception on Wednesday 10/3 at Ferrari of Newport Beach, at their new service facility just north of John Wayne Airport. Am thinking about the run from Newport Beach to San Diego. And, maybe even from SD to Palm Springs. Maybe. Regardless, it's an option to another "Bushwacker Bash-on-the-Bay" event! Whatta guy! HEAL. C'ya, y'all.
Whatever is decided you know it will be a great time for all. The 'T's and caps are all gone but I can donate some signed prints for everyone this time around.
oct 6 or 7 and nov 17 or 18 Speedventures runs a short course auto-x at autoclub speedway in fontana. The cost is $75/day. It is almost impossible for a waxer to get a scratch on their car and more than driving on the street. So it is safe. I have been known to get a few ferrari guys together and break out the bar-be-que and EZ up tents and go at it. All that is needed is your car, stock seatbelts, and a helmet. They have loaner helmets there too if you don't have one.
Wouldn't that be WAY too much fun for us? Do they have a class for the tequila inebriated? Wouldn't that decrease the value of my car? Wouldn't the 355s explode? So many questions.....
** I just read the sad news of Bushwhacker (Dennis Merritt) passing. This epic thread is a wonderful testament to the Brotherhood he fostered. ** RIP.
I am so sorry to hear this. Dennis was a cool dude. Over the years we would talk over the phone, the conversations were always enjoyable and pleasant. I'm glad to have known him, he was a good guy, a stand up dude. Rest in peace Dennis, miss you bro.
Very sorry to hear. I met him at the 10/2010 Newport Dinner Cruise. I was lucky enough to win one of his Ferrari V12 prints in the raffle, it's in my office at home. RIP Dennis.
Rest in peace Dennis. May the sun always shine upon you and when you wish may the winds lift you aloft so you may cruise among the stars.
