Need to replace thermostat on my Mondial 3.2. Any aftermarket ones available? I did a search and came up with 308 thermostats only. It seems they are diffrent??

    Thanks,
    Dave

    Hi Dave,
I asked the same question a few weeks ago.
I was quoted at AU$250.00 for one from the local Ferrari repairer/spares in Sydney.
On this forum, for 328/308/Mondial parts cross-references, there is a reference to a 1980 VW Golf or Rabbit one is the same or will fit.
I haven't located one yet to try, so if you do before me let me know if the advice is correct.

    Cheers,
    Ross

Thanks for the help. I looked at Superformance website too. They list the Tstat from Mondials but not for the 328s. They also don't distinguish for which Mondial the Tstat is for. Did not give me the warm fuzzies. I have heard the Tstat is diffrent from the 308 to the 328.

I think it is different. As above, check with Ricambi.

Are you sure the T-stat is bad? Have you taken it out and put it into a pot of 190-degree water on the stove?

I thought mine was bad in my 328 until I took it out and checked it -- checked out perfectly. Turned out that there was just some air trapped in the system preventing the T-stat from opening up fully. And just recently, some air settled in the radiator -- my temp started coming up on the way home during a 40 mile round trip after the car had sat for a while. I turned the bleed thumbscrew on the radiator and it went PSHHHHHHHHHHHHHH then some coolant started coming out. Problem solved.

Of course, if you've bled the rad and the T-stat housing, and then the T-stat doesn't open on the stove...well, I guess it's Ricambi (or GT Car Parts) time.
