I understand that less than 1400 of the 328 GTB's were made but wonder if anyone can tell me how many of them were painted "Verde Scuro Metallico" (Dark Green Metalic) worldwide?

My buddy has an 1989 model and the colour is totally awesome. He and I agree that there are only a small number on the planet, but wonder about the actual number made.

Any help would be great! Thanks!

(My profile has a picture of his Green 328 parked in front of my Red 328.)

Is that the Verde Scuro GTB that was for sale at Boston Sports cars a little while ago? It had like 1200 miles on it...

I'm assuming your buddy's car is 82906. Being an owner of a 89 328 GTB myself, I' ve been following others and keeping records. 82906 is pretty special.

Anyway, my research leads me to believe there are about 150 GTB's in the US. I have records for 63 different ones. 82906 is the only green one I know of so far. However, green may have been more popular in other parts of the world. There is an 86 GTS locally that is the same color and I think it looks good but has a brown interior (common with green). I think tan goes better. Any non red GTB is pretty rare in the US.

Yup, it's the car from BSC and is VIN#82906.

Definately a very special car. I would be curious if it is indeed the only one of it's kind in the USA. The interior is indeed brown leather (dash and door handles) and has tabacco leather seats and centre console.

It's indeed a beauty - but got to admit I love my generic red GTS better!

    Nice car.

That car was a real garage queen before your buddy bought it... has he been spending a lot of money to get it running?

    Dave,

No, not a dime! Everything was done prior to purchase at Boston Sports Cars.

Besides oil changes, he only really babies the interior leather and polishes the outside. Not much else to do actually.

    Jaturon,

Go to the Boston Sports Cars website and look under previously sold cars... You can't miss my buddy's 328! It's a beauty!

150 GTBs????? You must be counting the 328's only, that still doesn't sound correct.

    Bubba,
My estimate is formed as follows:
Several sources report 39-41 GTB's sold in 1989 model year. I have vins for 22 of them. My total for 86-89 stands at 63, however, I believe I have a greater proportion of 88-89 than 86-87 so I'm guessing my list may be less than 1/2 complete. Hence, I figure about 150 sold in the US. Worldwide, there were 1300+ but GTS's have always been more popular in the US (Magnum PI factor!). QV GTB's are really rare in the US, probably fewer than 75 and many have been tarted up to look like 288's or modified for track. There is a very good chance 82906 is the only green one in the US. It is also the latest VIN I have seen on a GTB. May be the last US delivery.

Wow. I own a 84 308 GTB QV and didn't realize there were so few in the US.
Certainly way less than the GTS's, but 75 makes them rare indeed. Mine's Nero Metallic. Wonder how many are around like it? I love the GTB's. By far one of the prettiest cars ever built in my opinion.

That green 328 GTB is very cool. I love off color cars!
