Anyone know where this buzzer is? I think mine was disconnected. It's the buzzer that goes off when the key is in the ignition. A location with a picture would be big help.

Ever since I bought my 308 11 years ago, I never heard my buzzer go on, I think the PO disconnected it.
Now, I want to connect it so I will also look for the buzzer.

If it is missing, what does it look like? Any chance you have a picture or part number?

Sorry no pictures and to be honest it's not something I'd retain an image of in my memory though I'm thinking it kind of looked like a tiny little speaker and the way it was mounted you probably wouldn't go to the trouble of removing it, just disarm it, or maybe I had to bypass it because I think it wasn't as easy as just yanking it out or cutting a wire. I know that, as with every other mod I've done on my 308 I did it in a way so that any subsequent owner could easily reconnect it. I even put a label on the relay with date and description but of course it's buried under that panel now so can't tell you what it says - lol.

FWIW if you've never had it working you might want to get an experience with someone who has a working one because it's a very irritating little buzzer. Drove me nuts and that's why I went to the trouble of locating it and shutting it up.

Thanks for this. I have to see if there is such a buzzer still under there. What is yellow arrow in picture #3 pointing to?

I have a 85 QV GTS. I don't know if 83 QV is the same. I just spent a week troubleshooting and got the buzzer working for this year Concorso Italiano last August. The buzzer for the QV is in the passenger foot well. It is mount behind the metal plate for the foot rest. You can find it from removing the passenger carpet. In order for buzzer to work 2 things need to be in order:
    1. White switch on driver door hinge guard must be connected. There are two switches on the door hinge guard, top is for interior light, bottom is for key buzzer. Open the door hinge guard making sure wire is not broken. BTW +12V is feeding to the switch. Be extremely careful with the 30+ plus switch connector when you pull it apart, it is hard to find a replacement. I found a door hinge guard from Redbay in Belgium for spares (see pic).
    2. Two wires from steering column as in pic above with the yellow arrow (not black but red/white for QV car) one is coming from the bottom switch door hinge guard, the other one goes to the buzzer. When key is in ignition on position and door is open it will trigger the timer for the buzzer. Inside the buzzer box is a circuit board with a speaker. There's an IC that controls the timer and gives the speaker the buzz.
It's annoying to hear the buzzer but now I know how to shut it off when I don't want it unless heading to a judging car show.

Thanks. I will take a look. The other pictures from ME308 must be an earlier model because nothing looks like that under my steering wheel column. I’m going to an FCA concours this weekend and I want it to work. I hope that buzzer is still under the footwell [emoji15]

Yup, that's what mine looked like in the footwell ('83 QV). Took me awhile to find that pesky sucker and shut it down.

My Euro QV only has one switch in the drivers door and that’s for interior light. Guessing Euro version doesn’t have this buzzer?

My Euro QV has a buzzer (somewhere in the steering area) that buzzes to alert me to ... something. The label/red light on the console says Seatbelt, but it also seems to be related to the door being open. Sometimes. (yeah, one of those charming things.)

It looks like your 83 QV got three more items attached to the foot well plate. ME308 is likely a 85 QV only two items.

Did you open up the driver door hinge guard and check the bottom switch?

Yes. Wire connected and it's live when ignition is turned to the "on" position. Nothing. I even cleaned the contacts on the door switch.

Question...does the buzzer also alert about an unbuckled seat belt? And how long does the seat belt warning light stay illuminated on a QV?
