Image Unavailable, Please Login Came across this while using the vac. (This being the coil thing with the 3 electrical connections) Anyone know what this is for ? I looked in the parts manual but couldn’t find it ? I would imagine something to do with the heating / cooling system but if somebody could tell me, that would be great.
Image Unavailable, Please Login Few more pics for today. This is the broken cabin heater motor. When I took the car first off the road I discovered it was broken. You can see the little ear which holds it to the frame has broken off.
Image Unavailable, Please Login This pic is to remind me where the wires go. The harness with the two wires goes on the positive side.
Both of mine were broken. I repaired with epoxy. One day I’ll replace them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Image Unavailable, Please Login Here it is in the bench. Now this is odd compared to the new one. The new one (which I will take a pic of, but don’t have right now) has a single spade connection for the positive and negative connections. The old one has this little harness that accepts 2 wires (from the main loom) for the positive side and one for the ground. One of the wires seems to go inside the housing into this fuse looking thing, but it’s hard to see in there. So the question is, to hook up my new one, why does the harness have two wires ????
Image Unavailable, Please Login Last pic for today. Pulled this out and going to replace it, as it’s pretty cruddy.
They clean up really well in my experience. Simply green and water. Exact replacements are NLA as far as I know. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I don’t see it on the parts diagram either but looking at the wiring diagram it looks like the resistor for ac fan speed... Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
To run switched power to the other fan? Since they both operate from the single switch. On the wiring diagram from my 78, power goes to the RH fan first and then across the car to the LH fan. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Hey Jason and David... I too have two fan motor housings that are also broken and laying down... I found this old thread on a solution to this problem... I'm planning doing the same and not paying for an outrageous price for a new fan housing.... https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/308-gts-b-heater-blower-mounts-are-junk.267911/
Hi. Thanks for the posts. I inspected the other side and the motor has also broken so I may investigate doing something like the post here from rob. Few more pics for you.
Image Unavailable, Please Login Can’t remember why I took this pic, perhaps showing the big anti freeze puddle .....
Image Unavailable, Please Login Here you can see undoing the bolt which holds the steering column to the rack.
Image Unavailable, Please Login Decided to remove the front bumper. It’s held on each side with these bolts.
Image Unavailable, Please Login There are two electrical connections on each side that I couldn’t get with the camera as the bumper is quite heavy.
