    David, were all the holes in the block where you mounted the block to the stand threaded, or did you use dowels in some of the holes? Nice stand BTW.

    No not all of them were threaded. 10 X 1.25 tap did the trick. I have factory align bore shafts for checking the crankshaft alignment and block for straightness(?). Attached photo. An American style engine stand interferes with this process.
    Made the engine stand 35 years ago. It has seen many Ferrari motors. Factory drip pan.

    196 on a dynojet sounds about right. The wheel type actually makes a difference with these as well as the 14" mag wheels are very light. I have tested an early 308 with small wheels and saw 199.6bhp at the wheels, then the same motor made 191bhp with 16" aftermarket QV repops. Regardless, the factory 232 flywheel (with early cams) makes sense and supports about a 15-16% drivetrain loss with small wheels and 17-18% loss with aluminum QV repops.

    Seems to be about average drivetrain loss as even though it's not turning 90 degrees through the gears, it still has a couple drop gears to transmit the power which makes up for the lack of a turn at the pinion. Most cars direct power immediately to the mainshaft from the flywheel minus drop gears of course. The drop gears are largely responsible for the lovely 308 gear whine we all know and love

    Makes me wonder about the reason for the selling of the car. Obviously bought on the top of the market, so selling it now would not make much sense, moneywise.

    This weekends project was to build a fixture for working on the cylinder heads. I made this from scrap we had in house.
    It will allow several operations to be done while minimizing the chances of damaging the cylinder head gasket surfaces. Excellent for honing valve guides (my primary motivator)

    I have been in touch we the people at Glass308 but I stumbled across a different website focusing on Vetroresinas and can't seem to find it again. I was certain I bookmarked it but its not in my records.
    It may have been Dutch or from the Netherlands?

    You might be thinking of the 308GTB Registry? The Ferrari 308 GTB Register It is for all carbed 308GTB's, not just vetroresina specific.

    I'm afraid that's not it either. The webmaster took the time to publish photographs which illustrated the differences between the Vetroresina and the wet sump steel cars.

    I don't know any other vetroresina register, I'm curious to have this new!

    In 308-328.com, there are all the differences details on pictures between the two versions but there's no register for GTB....

    Otherwise, there is a local register in Belgium but there's no illustration either....

    interesting that they show on image 11 that the roof is not connected to the rest of the body. Is this common in all vetroresinas? havent seen it in many

    Yes, all vetroresinas have the "A" pillar seam. Some may have been filled during a previous repaint but it is there.
