Good day all. I have a 1979 308 GT4 and the tachometer seems to not have a great deal in common with the actual operation of the engine. The needle moves, but not very quickly and generally not over 4,000 rpm. The sound from the motor would indicate that it is in fact working a lot harder than the tach indicates. Has anybody else experienced this problem? Sensor issue? I just don't know where to start.

    TIA for your helpful suggestions.
