I just completed replacing all of the carpet in my 308 GTSQV with a carpet set from GAAH. I also did a major soundproofing of the whole floor and interior with material from Elemental Design. I tried to post the article with pictures that I prepared so that someone may benefit from this experience but my file with pictures is too large. Any suggestions on sharing the article? It turned out great and made a big difference in looks and reduced raod noise in the car.

Googled GAAH and found nothing. Googled Elemental Design and found too many sound deadening products to comprehend. What did you use? Is there a invoice list including prices for your floor job? (and just what is a GAAH?)

Please don't put your stuff into a pdf...that's the LAST choice of possibilities. If you need a place to post the procedure...just holler, many of us have web space.

I used them as well and used everything dynamat sells to cut down noise......the carpet was great, the sound reduction stuff did almost nothing. It hinde sight, I don't know how I even expected a reduction in noise since I drive with the roof off and windows open almost exclusively. When the roof is on and the windows up, the car is a bit quieter, but a lot off noise still seems to come in the roof.

I am planning on doing this project.... anyupdates here.. my carpets need refresh and I would like to renew the foam inthe seat bottoms... but I can't find replacement seat cushions anywhere... I guess I just take the whole seat to a upholstery shop and let them deal with it... I worry about them screwing it up....

also with all the carpets out, I would like to apply some sort of rust proof or protection like POR-15.. any thoughts.. are these panels alum or steel.. either way the floors are in GREAT condition ( I want to keep them that way AND drive the car) but these floor panels seem VERY VERY thin...

Dynamat is primarily a stereo system enhancer, it cuts resonance and vibration INSIDE the car panels (trunk and doors) from the high powered speakers.

To try to reduce road noise, I'd coat the flat bottom of our cars with something like ZieBart undercoating.

    Correct it's GAHH.

Look at Mr. G's "Meg's 57" thread for a nice view of dynamat going in......

Way to scary listening with roof on and windows up. The paranoia factors goes up 10X. I imagine hearing bearing noises, ring noises etc. Much more relaxing with top off, roof off.

Here are some pics of the Dynamat install on my GT4. It takes a little time, but I think that it was worth the effort. The car sounds more solid when you close the doors and the new stereo I installed sounds very good. I used 18 sheets total for the back, floor and doors.

I ordered it online from Amazon.

did you do any rustproofing of the panels before you glued on the mat? if so what? I'd be worried about moisture and rust forming..also, what will you use to glue the insulation and then the carpets down on top of the mat?
