Hey! I got one vote and it wasnt from me That makes me feel good. I voted for Sherpa cause I've seen his car in person ands its BEAUTIFUL!!! James in Denver
Since I was the one who first told Sherpa23 about that balck GTB being for sale, what sort of bonus do you guys think Ryan should give me for turning him onto the winning car? Dave
A few friendly suggestions: I'm prejudiced in favor of GTBs over GTSs. I like both the 308 GTB and 308 GTS better than the Mondial or 308 GT4. Those are just my preferences with regard to these models in general, not specific cars; one of those Mondials REALLY looks nice! Sooo. . .Let's do this contest again in a year or so, now that we have so many people's attention, and keep it open for a longer time period to give more people time to post and cast their votes. Not that I expect to "win," because my 308 has a number of small mods (like fender shields, re-paint, and a metal gearshift lever) that make it a bit less than original. Finally, let's have categories for GTS, GTB, GT4, and Mondial. . . Not intended as criticism at all; this was a great idea and a lot of fun. Just a few ideas to make it even "better." ~Bradley
I must be way off base: I never thought that this was about originality. I don't think that anyone in the top 5 had an original car (correct me if I'm wrong). If anything, I think that everyone should have 3 votes next year because it's way too hard just to choose one.
I did see one post (can't find it now) that rated some of the contestants in order, deducting points for such non-original items as scuderia shields, paint on the intake plenum, metal shift knobs, and metal pedals - all of which I have. I'm not interested in winning so much as in seeing so many awesome 3x8s - and showing off my own. Maybe originality isn't as important here as on the concours : ) I like the 3 votes per person idea - either one vote in each category, i.e., "Favorite GTS or GTB;" "Favorite Mondial;" and "Favorite GT/4." Or maybe just vote for your three favorite cars, no matter what they are. I tend to be partial to 308/328 GTBs. . .Others have their personal preferences. I love the idea of having this contest, and don't mean to say it has to be done any particular way. Just throwing some ideas out there.
Yes, of course I am interested!!! A bit hesitant to claim what I consider a gift... that's all. PM sent.... Thanks! Hans
I received a mystery box in the mail today that contained my 3rd place prize. Thanks very much to Chris (vtc4198) for organizing this and donating the beautiful floor mats! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Listen guys, As long as we all seem to enjoy this kind of cheerful competition, may I suggest that we give individual models their due respect. We did "cleanest 348" which didn't include 355 - - so why should a 1979 308 be in competition with a Mondial t - even one that you could drive with one leg and still shift to your heart's content If a family lineage dictates inclusion, then 308 and 328 seem OK in bed together, though even they are dramatically different cars. It's just a thought - though I'm in, even if I have to go up against Jim's P4/5 Cheers, Hank
How about a show for just the Modial T Cabrio? How many are left? there were 44 built, probably half are gone, leaving 22, of those 22, half are not on here, that leaves 11 Great show!! Luv ya Hankster
I think you're talking about Valeo equipped t cars Actually, there were 1017 t Cabs built from 89 thru 93. Just wait till all of our Mondials can get it together for a car show in the flesh. Luv you too Chris - and Happy Mother's Day to your entire family. Hankster
I know its all in fun but I agree with Hank. His car has the best chance against the 308/328 but even so 308/328's are not Mondial's - and Mondial's are not 308/328's. Its a reasonable request. Now if I were to ask for a Mondial T coupe show (the coupe is the one of 42 you reference) that would be pushing it.
