Do you know of any nail polish color for Rosa Chiaro? Maybe I should ask my daughter to search for a match...

I am looking for the grey flexible ducting used in the 308 (and Boxer) ventilation system. I.D. is 3 1/4" or 79mm. It's an odd size.

If the ducting is still intact, but dirty, it can be cleaned. I washed mine using Simple Green and a Scotchbrite pad. I worked with a damp pad and removed dirt, grease and paint overspray. Mine (78 308 GTS) looked like yours and seemed to be made of a grey vinyl, not paper or cardboard.

Yes it is grey vinyl. The two sections that lead from the blower motor are in very poor shape. Other pieces have fused to some of the components.

On the baldwin PF866 Fuel filter...
The bottom washer is glued to the filter, and if you use an old spring from an UFI fuel filter, it won't properly compress that rubber washer to the bottom of the fuel filter, which means you risk not having a good seal there.
The solution is to use a fender washer between the spring and the bottom rubber seal. THAT way, there's good compression against that washer, while pushing the fuel filter upwards!
    Use a washer with roughly 15mm i.d., and a minimum of 38mm O.D.
If you want to get fancy, fix the fender washer to the spring permanently, that way it won't get off center.

OK I’ve been researching gas struts for my ‘79 308. The following are what’s listed on eBay and Ricambi for most 308/328:

    Stabilus Lift o mat. #SG237001 about $88 a pr.
Sachs #SG237001 (same as Stabilus # and also cross-references to #6271, Strong Arm number) abt $50 each
Strong Arm #6271, abt $40 ea, many diff prices)
Also another listing for Strong Arm under # ZD74N5- don’t know what that is.
    Ricambi #60592800 abt $60 each.

Prices other than Ricambi all over the map, but kinda similar.

I've always thought that simply regassing the existing is a better idea than buying new.

Mine weren't stamped "Ferrari"... I believe they were dead Stabilus struts. For $23, less trouble to just replace.

This isn't exactly a cross reference, or if it is it's a looooong toss across. Nonetheless, after searching forever for a seat belt receiver for my '75 Dino GT4, I found that the same Robbins seat belt used in my front seats were installed in 72-73 Volkswagens. I wrote up a DIY thread in this forum section if anyone is interested. Here are the two receivers side by side.

Caliper parts: I'm rebuilding the ATE calipers and for anyone doing this, Bigg Red on ebay has all four front 48mm pistons/seals for £40 (part No. BRKP86.) I got the rear caliper seals from buycarparts.co.uk (autodoc.de) for £4 each side (D4096) and they have the front seal sets for £5 each side (248030.) Always better to search for the 48mm and 38mm piston ATE parts listed for Porsche as they are cheaper. I think that some Ford Capri/Cortinas and a few others used the ATE 48mm front caliper with a 30mm high piston.

I just ordered 2 new Heater Control Valves for my '85 308QV. They are from an Opel and look to be identical, right down to the numbers stamped on the actuator arms. Here are the part numbers:
    opel SAVARA 9.82.029.11
    SAVARA 98202911
    Opel: 8948020 - 8.948.020

Cost: 38 Euros each, plus 30euros to ship.
    https://www.spitline.com/index.php/rubinetto-riscaldamento-opel-kadett.html

Once I get them, Ill let you know how they fit. Heres some pics of the ones from my car, teh rubber inside are shot, although they do prevent me from blowing through them... It PE had the line all plugged up and had the hoses bypassed, probably wasnt able to source replacement valves and didnt want to deal, so they plugged with rubber stoppers and put the hoses back on!!

For Starters, I found this guy in upstate NY that sells new starters for many Ferrari models:
    https://www.classiccarperformance.com/collections/ferraristarters-com

I ordered one for my '85 308 QV, and the next day the owner (Dave Austin) hand delivered it to me while I was out in my barn working on it! Not sure if you will get the same hand delivered service (Dave just happened to be in the area).

These are gear reduction starters, better than stock and more reliable.

I highly recommend him, great guy and a great product. Fair price and a lifetime warranty.
