A C12S didnt cost 500k pounds to buy when new. They were around $350k.

How can the damage be more than the price of the new car ? Wouldn't the insurance company write the car off and write him a check of market value?

They're quoting UK pounds though, at current rates $350k = £500k +/-. I've no idea whether that is anymore accurate though.

Might they pay to repair the car if it's no longer made?

It would be unfortunate for Sir Jackie if it was!

In other news; Steve Sutcliffe (Autocar) mentions it was a colleague from another car magazine.
