I am looking to replace my AC blower on my 308.
I can only find a single speed replacement from SPAL --> http://www.spalusa.com/store/main.aspx?p=itemdetail&item=30000343
The only way to get a 3-speed is to order 200 fans; I only need one. Three MAX, if I want to swap out the blowers in the front for heat.

They sell this 3-speed resistor, but "it has the wrong values and won't work" --> http://www.spalusa.com/store/main.aspx?p=itemdetail&item=20601003

Is there any way to do this or am I SOL!?
(If the answer is simple, just tell me cause I don't know S**T. Just figuring it out/learning as I go)

    Thank you.

Check back on the site under Blower Accessories to the left and it will take you to the page for three speed resistors. They have a bunch, you might need to call to find out which one is the right one for that fan. Most DC and AC fans can be speed controlled. They provide specs on all the resistors but only the picture for one. Click on the resistor then the pdf symbol for the specifications. I think any that they show will work fine but I only looked at the first two. The fan youu picked works from 6.6 to 13.1 amps input. The resistors are mostly rated at 12 so should be fine. I would interpret this to mean that the resistor will not pass more then 12 amps so you don't burn up the fan motor at it's maximum rating of 13.1

    So--
I can call the guy back and tell him he is an EFFing idiot?
    OR
    Too soon to call?

Why would he tell me that it wouldn't work?
It's not like he was trying to sell me a more expensive part; the part doesn't exist for the layman.

Okay looking in more detail it looks like part #s:

    20604003
    20604005
    20604010

will all work but give you different mid and low speed

Now I just had a thought, are you going to be running two fans or one? This would change things. The GTS has two of these and there is a right and left.

Running two fans might require more current then you would need:

    20604004
    20604006
    20604014
which are rated for 22 amps total

This would in some part depend on how the fans are wired. They should be able to answer this question as to which series of resistor to get.

The AC only has one, single fan blower.
I wish I had room for two blowers.

It's interesting that in the 308 GTS/B they used two of these for the heater fans and a double blower for the A/C. It didn't help. So for all those tuned in the fan/resistor package is Spal# 30001003 the resistor is # 20602002.

The resistor MIGHT BE PN 20602009.
A lot of SPAL numbers conflict internally.
    Could be the same thing.
