My own personal 2018 Alfa Romeo 4C coupe is currently on Bring a Trailer. Auction closing Monday 9/21. If you're looking for one of these in virtually as-new condition in the perfect spec, here it is.

    https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2018-alfa-romeo-4c-coupe-2/

I've talked about my love for my 4C on FChat many times. So why am I selling it? Well, I've had my fun with it, and there are some other cars that I've recently acquired that I'd like to keep. Can't keep everything.

As has been said many times before, the 4C is the modern incarnation of the Dino. The carbon fiber tub alone cost more than the list price of the car. In many ways, it's more fun to drive the 4C on the street than any of the modern mid-engine Ferrari V8 cars. I'm looking forward to my car finding its new home in the hands of another enthusiastic owner.

beauty, its a wonder that they made those. Few companies dared.

I have to say I'm a bit shocked (pleasantly so) to see these going for MSRP or more in your car's case.

If I fit in one, I would have gotten one. Really was exactly what I wanted (an A-to-A car that is; light, small, nimble, simple, stripped own). In a way a bit of a modern Dino or CS spiritually.

Dunno what’s happening on BAT but whilst market is up generally speaking the prices on there are plain stupid. Seems buyers are uneducated buying stuff without analysis or due dilligence

Yeah, I’m general across the country, the going rate for these is mid forties. Anyone paying 60 is nuts. But good for him getting top dollar. Bring a trailer seems to get absurd amounts for cars not worth the value.

BaT users overpaying talk aside...the 4C is some of the most fun I've ever had on a track. These cars are amazing and definitely unparalleled bang for buck as a track car in my opinion.

There's a lot of shill bidding on BAT. That's why the prices are up.

This was my car and my auction. I hope that you're not implying that I shill bid (or had others shill bid) my auction?

    My reserve was $45K.

Not implying anything about your auction, but I have personally encountered and have a nearby dealer who confirms with me that they have shill bidding going on with BAT.

I mean, I understand why people don't like it. But it has existed in all auctions for a long time. And if it is really happening - I'm not sure how much it matters. dealers don't want to sell their cars below market. And if it is worth $5k, or some portion there of to prevent it, then fine. Doesn't mean that the whole purchase process is null and void. I don't see it any different than setting a high, non-disclosed, reserve.

Yes. It's normal and for the most part harmless. On a no reserve auction it can be harmful but in a reserve situation every auctions house discloses upfront that they have the right to bid on the car up to the reserve.

Honestly after doing so many auctions over 20 years both wholesale and retail I completely understand why they do it.

2019 was the last year for the 4C coupe in the US market. They are appreciating quite quickly,
