Feels like a floor has been found at £220-230k. Lots have sold this month around that price. F8 is £200-220, so like £10k difference for a higher Milage, older car. I'm thinking this is good value. A 488 is £150-170k, a 458 around the same, an F8 around £210-220k, a 296 where they've finished taking orders £230k for an 18 month old low miles example. Feels like a good deal and good value? Can't see it dropping to less than £170k in the next 2 yrs. Thoughts? Feels like a bargain
I mean thats $280-290K in US dollars thats pretty amazing. I would definitely buy one around there. Our dealers are trying to get 400K US dollars still.
some have been sold for less than their asking prices at £19x,000 at some point imo they'll drop down to 458 levels but I think it's still a good buy as whoever bought them new took the £100k hit
Current model Ferrari's taking that kind of hit is not a good sign for Ferrari IMO They will still sell out but the Dealer games will cool down
I looked again at the 296 asking prices in Germany and other parts of Europe and then ran a 458 search and the asking prices are converging, some already seem there. I thought breifly about trading my 458, but that thought is fully gone after 2 dealers have ask if I planned to trade and when I said "I didn't think so", both responded " I wouldn't". The 296 is soooo much nicer to drive, and eventhough the 458 looks and sounds so pretty, something seems off when the 10 year old car with a good chunk of miles is pricing the same as an almost new seemingly great car?
Not sure what’s off about that? Playing devils advocate, A 30 year old Toyota Supra can be the same price, if not more, than the almost new car that performs much better. Some cars are classics and will be worth the same if not more than their modem counterparts. 458 has become a modern classic
imo it's partly this and partly that cars like the 488/f8 etc have adequate performance on public roads so there's less incentive to change - back on transitions from the 355 to 360, 360 to 430 etc it was exicting to have the new power (+the roads were less congested back then)
Can’t imagine having this level of performance on the roads over there. UK roads make me stress out. Lol On a separate note, Does the UK have speed cameras? First time driving thru Switzerland I could not figure out why everyone was slowing down periodically. Finally figured out the speed cameras. Driving in Italy this past year I figured it out and remembered to brake hard as I got close to the camera.
It seems we're not quite there though, here are the price ranges from mobile.de in Euros (excluding limited editions, and Danish cars that are unusually expensive, for whatever reason): 458 Italia: 138K - 250K 488 GTB : 175K - 290K F8 Tributo: 270K - 365K 296 GTB: 265K - 457K So one has to go for a most expensive 458 or 488 to be in the same ballpark as a less expensive 296. Otherwise the delta is still almost 100K, since "typical" 458 prices are just below 200K, "typical" 488 prices are just above 200K, and "typical" 296 prices are around 300K. The F8 comparison seems to show, however, that the 296 has already lost the attraction of the newest car - after all, an F8 is like a most recent 488, so comparing F8 prices with 296 prices is comparing the very most expensive examples of the previous generation (488/F8) to the new generation. And we have the same situation as for already discontinued cars: the most expensive 458 is dearer than the less expensive 488, although a typical 488 is slightly more expensive than a typical 458.
lots of speed cameras and many tight challenging roads, typically out in the countryside where the limiting factor of speed is how suicidal you feel
Great app called Radarbot. It knows where they are but not where random cops will be with lasers. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
