Thanks to DavidJames1 for this document. Hopefully people can see it here from this link. Worth downloading. Lots of good details and information. The original doc had about 100 pages. You should be able to download it as a PDF or Word file. Not sure about Macs. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1nDvL7XfX-WisQD7CA8WhdMBUlzNvtHg6B6bqHegiGu0/edit?usp=sharing
Thanks A funny thing I noticed, even if it's apparently an internal document it's also repeating the external BS The 296 is a different car for different Ferraristi and does not replace any car of the range: - if one wants more performance and less fun to drive, there's the SF90 - if one wants more fun to drive and less performance, there's the 296 - and if one wants less fun to drive and less performance, there's the F8... seriously? I think this may compete for the most stupid pitch for a range of sports cars.
The F8 is most likely on the way out. This is just a way to justify those who don't want a hybrid and the increase in base price. I understand it -- because they can't come right out and say that. They still want people to follow through on their F8 orders. Q: "What do I do if someone comes in and doesn't want a hybrid?" A: "Sell them an F8"
... but their marketing picture says: Q: "What do I do if someone comes in and wants a car with less fun and less performance?" A: "Sell this stupid guy an F8" To me it's not the smartest way to value the customers.
I agree. As I said in the other thread the F8 owners are being thrown under the bus. In the past they drew down production of the older model so things like this didn’t happen. This time they are trying to make it on both ends and wind up embarrassing themselves. A guy in my community tried to buy a used Ferrari at a dealer about 3 months ago. Since inventory was low they convinced him to order a F8. Once I learned about this I asked him if they informed him about the LB. He said they did but told him it would be 3 years before he would see on locally. Well he is pissed now that this happened Not a good way to treat your customers
THROWN UNDER A BUS? Was the 360 modena throwing 355 owners under the bus? You can still order an F8. They will make them as long as they have orders. Maybe the 296 will fail. I don't understand your logic at all because to me, throwing them under the bus would be stop taking orders. I bought a 2009 F430 spider. In 2010 came the 458. Did I feel like I was thrown under a bus? Nope -- that F430 spider is still one of my favorite cars I've owned.
If I ordered a 355 just before the reveal of the 360 and the dealer misrepresented the timing you bet I would feel like I was thrown under the bus.
Seems like you have a problem with your DEALER. Actually today, many people like the 355 more than the 360. Ferrari has been hinting they are making a smaller version of the SF90 for 2 years. I don't see the issue. And if you don't like hybrids (a lot of people don't), then the F8 will be in demand for a while. Performance wise, the 296 doesn't blow the F8 away. So its not like they obsoleted it with this new car.
Most people wait a year or more to order a new model Ferrari and take delivery. The F8 is being custom built for your friend and he is hurt how? Does he want a hybrid V6 or a Ferrari V8. The choice is really simple and a time limited offer because Ferrari is ending the F8 next January. Ferrari mostly sells new models to favourite customers first so the other buyer have to wait...
Frankly I don’t know if he even likes the 296 but he is pissed they weren’t honest with him. I told him he better get used to it because it will not be the last time he will be upset with the dealer or Ferrari. But isn’t that the case will all brands?
I have seen the information brochure above and appreciate the share, but does anyone have the actual personalization document that breaks down the options and codes? Particularly interested in the interior codes like the various PIP and CLDT details? What is standard vs what is optioned. I appreciate the assist as I don’t have a nearby dealer and don’t want to keep emailing my salesman to ask him to keep changing things on the confit for me. Thanks
Anyone have the actual PDF for that huge, 296 brochure? And a price option list?? Thanks!! Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
In the US, there is no option pricing sheet or Personalization Programme brochure. On this site there is an option pricing sheet in Euros. Dealer configurator does not yet contain all the options. Lots of time to set final configuration. Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat
I went to the reveal at Ferrari Austin last Thurs. I sat in it and it is appreciably tighter interior in all dimensions. Saw 2 guys in it with shoulders nearly touching. Really no room behind seats and dash appears closer as it juts out on left and right edges. I placed a deposit in February but will pass on it. Lines are somewhat derivitive and front has a resemblance to earlier vettes. Front three-quarters are simple and smooth but rear is a fiesta of design elements, materials and shapes.
So I’ve been told that this car is small inside like you have noted at your dealer and tall guys like me 6’5” 230lbs will not fit. I barely fit in my 488 and truth be told I fit best in my 2018 Porsche GT3 with the lightweight carbon bucket seats. I felt down inside and well supported in that car. My dealer doesn’t know when they will get a 296 in to preview.
There is a standard option price list for the 296 GTB. Reach out to your local Ferrari Sales Manager - they absolutely should have it. you are correct though - no personalization guide or special options pricing as of yet.
I went to my local dealer and they definitely have pricing. We did a “dream spec” including assetto fiorano and carbon wheels. The total came out to 484k. I suppose a more restrained spec could land around 400k with enough good stuff. I have a 992 GT3 inbound so I’m still in the research phase for adding a stablemate to the GT3, but I’m hesitant. I worry this will be less loved than the v8’s. My dealer kept telling me to consider ordering an F8, but I procrastinated. F8 order banks are closed.
