I'm pretty happy moving into a 296 from my Pista. Not that the Pista ever felt "slow" but the 296 is just next level. Also cool seeing some of the OG 60-130 guys still at it. 4.8 is not to far off from a Plaid! Finally fast ferraris
765 seems to be about equal the 296 from 60-130, whereas the 296 (and SF90) seem to be faster than the 765 after that. Probably due to the 765’s aero.
Your runs were in 60 degree temps at 37’ DA, compared to my run which was 79 degrees at 1274’. So safe to say they’d be essentially equal head to head in the same conditions. Both are very fast.
Insane numbers guys. This was last year but I never managed to get any faster. Do you do it in Race or CT Off? Image Unavailable, Please Login
It’s funny those runs were done in Pittsburgh and the height above sea level is the same for both. No clue where -1 at sea level came from. Draggy is weird with the slopes, etc.
Here’s some more from me I’ve done a ton Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Just posting these for context. @Divexxtreme your car seems really quick I’m curious if you can repeat that time. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I honestly think it’s an average 296. I mean C&D ran 9.7 @ 150 on a unprepped surface, so the cars are very fast. Regardless, mine is already sold but I’ll get some runs from my 296 GTS when it arrives. Of course, it’ll be heavier and probably a little slower.
91 octane instead of 93. Unknown Density Alritude (DA). That said, any production car running 9’s on the street on 91 octane is not “slow”.
It’s more in line with the other posted 296s I’ve seen. Divs is the outlier at the moment. Kmaaq posted about 20 runs on Draggy. His fastest was 5.18 60-130. and yes, sub 10 on the street is not “slow”.
To be fair, when you say the “other runs”, there’s been like 3, with one we know was using 91 octane. I think there’s actually more videos of 296s beating SF90s and 765s head to head racing than there are than dragy runs, lol. Also, on 91 octane, I doubt that any of the three cars will be in the 4’s. I’d also guess the 60-130 times for Car and Driver’s 9.8 @ 150 run was probably 4.8 as well, if not faster.
Definitely was, but I don’t consider any magazine time of anything the standard. I have probably 30 legitimate runs in my 765. And my times line up with many other 765’s. That’s my barometer. Magazines often are a little, well, optimistic let’s say. But I’m with you, not enough customer data yet. And I’m certainly wanting all 296’s to be as fast as yours.
How was the sf90 in terms of overall speed after the 296? I'm pretty excited to get a 296 at this point. Seemingly great reviews. Definitely holding me off from jumping into a 765
