    Hello,

I m the lucky owner of a 296 gtb. I have bought the car recently and I like it a lot. Just have a question about the seats. I have the carbon bucket seats without the electric lifter option. Do you think that this can be refitted?
I would like to sit a bit higher.
I did’nt ask my dealer yet.

Without the electric lifter does it not allow you to manually lift it also?

No, no manual at all. My information is that the lifter can't be retrofitted

Hmmm.. I was reading on forums and it seems that dealership can adjust it for you.. Check with the dealer?

There are options from 3rd parties like Hill Engineering, see
    https://www.hillengineering.co.uk/interior-parts/seat-related/seat-spacer

who might make similar for the 296 or perhaps the same part fits.

Without the lifter, is the seat as low as the lifter allows it to go?

I tested a car with the lifter and had to set at it's lowest. I see no reason for me to want it higher.

This would definitively be interesting for me, because usually I don't need the lift and would leave it out if an adjustment would be possible (when I sell the car)

I hope this doesn’t sound silly but sometime back I had sciatica in my left leg which made it hard for me to drive my 488 Spider. I bought a higher end seat cushion which fixed that problem. I found I liked the higher sitting position using the cushion and still use it even though the sciatica has resolved.
Maybe give this a try before doing something expensive otherwise? Just a thought.

On the 458 era car race seats without lift, there are 3 or 4 different seat mounting heights (one on each side for front of seat one for behind the seat) . I wonder if the 296 also has these. If so, then its a job for the dealer or even qualified mechanic, you should be available so you can get the seat fitted to your preference.

they are adjustable but by hand and must be removed. find a tech manual and diy or pay dealer to do it.

At least my McLaren Racing Seat was adjustable the same way - went to the dealer, unmount, elevate and mounted. But the dealer won't tell you upfront, because they want to sell the lift. In my experience.
