Hi, Martin - I do not claim to know much about the 275 but I have worked on a few. These items bother me. If the number shown (1256) is purported to be the serial number, it is wrong on two counts: 1) Road cars (V 12) have odd serial numbers 2) As I recall, the 275 GTS models started with serial numbers around 7500. Comments? Bob Z.
Supposedly based on a 275 GTS, but the seller (who has been banned from this site) would not share the chassis number with me when I questioned him via email. His response: My thoughts: 1. If he gave me the chassis number and asked that I not share it, then he's wrong; I never would have posted it on the internet. 2. He's probably correct in that, if the general public knew the chassis number, they would most likley badmouth the project on the internet. 3. Even without knowing the chassis number (assuming that it is actually based on a 275 GTS chassis), people will likely badmouth this project on the internet.
Correct me if I'm wrong but the engine pictures in the gallery attached to the ad show what looks to be an F101 engine probably from a 400? https://plus.google.com/app/basic/photos/116792544308100682548/album/5872740517373185185
I cannot get the seller to divulge the chassis number nor any other drivetrain numbers. It seems odd for the seller to assume speaking with him on the phone wouldn't result in sharing information on the internet. Well, it seems Pascal ( the seller) is a little off.
The artisans who made the real thing in the 60's left work that does not suffer fools gladly... this thing misses by a mile. Fake. Fake. Fake.
39 bids to $150k? Thats some ugly car! That pic has been posted somewhere before.....in another thread on NART spyders.....
Is this car fat in the middle, or am I just used to the look of the Nembo? Anyway, not a bad looking car, and it should haul with that big engine. Interesting. Maybe it has the chassis that was lost/stolen from Tom Meade? Wonder why the seller is so tight with the S/N?
