275 GTB/4 trunk carpet

I have not seen anything other than dark gray (much darker than in your pic) used. Try Re Originals in TX.

 

For my 275gtb Mattt sell the salt and pepper synthetic carpet, not the square weave that he sell for the 330gtc. I'm not sure of the 275gtb4 but i assume that Scaglietti used diferent materials than PF. I rec. you call Matt 832-632-9289 He has this pretty well figuered out.

275'S used the salt and pepper carpeting, not the square weave.

 

I have a different opinion regarding the trunk carpet with respect to the 'salt & pepper'. I have looked carefully at the original trunk material still with a long-nose torque-tube 275. It is a square weave type of carpet, charcoal (a bit salt & pepper in appearance too, not black), very close and similar to the photos at the beginning of this thread. The impression is somewhat more of rows, as the squares are not as pronounced, but it is definitely a loop carpet, square-weave. Somewhere I wrote down the number of rows per inch. In the evolution of the 275GTB, from short-nose to long-nose to 4-cam, I do not know if the carpet changed along the way; perhaps a salt & pepper cut pile was used too for trunks, but there is no doubt in my mind that the square weave was used at some time for the 275GTB. No point in comparing to a Pininfarina-built 275GTS or 330GTC/S - different coach builders who each did their own thing.

 

Did all 275gtb 2 and 4 cams come stock with black felt fabric on the inside truck lid? I have seen some cars painted satin black.
