Hi guys, I have just ran into Car and Classic online ad for a 1963 250 GTO, previously owned by Enzo Ferrari. "The Ultimate Ferrari 250 GTO 1963 Series One Previous Owner: Enzo Ferrari "A must-have for the avid collector" The Ferrari 250 GTO Series 1 - Model 1963 Original car, fully restored Full history, certifications, documents, service book, ... etc. from Ferrari with the car. Available for immediate Worldwide delivery" Do you think its legit? Image Unavailable, Please Login
Uhh ok, that was quick. I'm emailing back and forth with the guy. "We have two Ferrari 250 GTO Cars both priced at xx Last Four Digits of chassis number: 5111 Last Four Digits of chassis numbet: 4713 5111 was owned previously by Enzo Ferrari 4713 was previously owned by Mr Wang Best regards Steve "
If you have absolutely nothing better to do, then I suppose your little email exchange is one way to entertain yourself.
I wouldn't do it just to do it, a client is looking to buy. Didn't see any on upcoming auctions. So I resorted to google. Anybody here can confidently dismiss the option that 5111 and 4713 250 GTOs are actually for sale here?
The general rule of thumb is to ignore any dealer who has fewer than three 250 GTO's in inventory. This guy is one GTO short.
If anybody is interested in the Mona Lisa, I'm about to list it on Craig's List. Worldwide delivery...

You will not find one legitimately advertised for sale on the Car & Classic website, or anywhere else for that matter. These cars change hands infrequently, and even then, sales are generally private transactions put together by a small group of connected brokers/industry professionals. Once in a blue moon, the parties involved will take it public, like this: FERRARI 250 GTO ACHIEVES $38,115,000
I have found myself in position, through my position in an uber-luxury armored SUV manufacturer, where a legit buyer has asked me (and I'm sure also a group of connected brokers) to help him find & purchase one. Anycase, Thanks much for the insight.
UPDATE: He just told me he's from REFINEDMARQUES, asking 3% deposit, etc. I've not been here long on Ferrari Chat, but long enough to know what'sup.
Right? Can someone contact actual 5111 and 4713's current owners, and tell them that con-artists are "selling" their cars?
A brief google search gave this Jalopnik article as item #1 Why You Shouldn't Trust The Internet's Most Exotic Car Dealer Our very own Rob Lay is quoted and they have been offering a GTO for some years. Strikes me they can't be doing a very good job if its still on the market......... Lolz But you know what the kids say today, YOLO. So if you do send the deposit, send cash in unmarked small denomination notes and tell us how you get on.
