PH..I guess it's a 'Dead Ringer', hu? I have Verizon. For $3.00 a month, they cover this kind of stuff. I am on my third cell phone, one stolen and one lost. Replacement takes 2 days. Very efficient.
Peter ... you are a most gracious and generous person. As driver of the Ferrari Challenge Make-A-Wish #19, I want to thank you for your donation as well as making more people aware of MAW. The Make-A-Wish Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to granting the special wishes of children with terminal or life-threatening illnesses. I can tell you first hand that the real power of a wish come true is not just about getting to meet a celebrity or venturing to an exotic place. The true power of a wish lies in its ability to give a child back what a life-threatening illness takes away Laughter. Strength. Hope. And the power of a wish makes the power of a Ferrari seem so insignificant in comparison. Thank you again ... and best WISHES!
Mandy...Your reply was very gracious. I trust ALL members here thank you for that. What is the Ferrari Challenge Make-A-Wish #19? Are you involved with MAW? Please explain! Just curious.
Mandy heads up the fund raising for MAW out of the Houston office. All the other offices are jealous of how she gets large amounts donated. She hits up all the other Challenge drivers at the races. She tells them "if you can afford to drive Challenge car, you can afford to give to MAW and help some children". Works every time. Car #19 is a red 360 Challenge that she carries the Make-A-Wish moniker on. She races out of FoHouston. I believe last year was her first full year driving the cars on the track. BTW, Mandy is a very gracious, fun-loving, petit, very attractive lady. She means everything she says to you in the most sincere manner.
You may find Mandy at: www.ferrarichallenge.com/2002/na/drivers/details.asp?driverid=53 I believe that link will work.
Audiguy - Thanks for kind words Update: 2002 was my first season running the Ferrari Challenge, and I took every green and every checkered flag all season including the finals in Italy, The last time that was done was 1996 by Dr. Stephen Earle, and it had never been done by a woman. During the 2003 season I did most of the Challenge races, but not all as I was also campaigning my 1957 Porsche 356 in HSR events. (This car also proudly displays the Make-A-Wish logo.) However. my poudest accomplishment is that to date I have raised almost $500,000 for Make-A-Wish. The white stripes on the roof of the FC #19 Make-A-Wish car proudly displays the names of donors to MAW. Anyone interested in making a donation for the 2004 season should send me a private message. Mandy, You probably do not remember me but when you met at FoH to help set up the Houston Chapter of the FCA I was there helping David Wood in hosting the meeting as a staff member of FoH. I was there training to go to Dallas to the store there. I met you again last year when you came in to see Tony Nevotti in Dallas. I believe Toni Martinez was also in the dealership at the same time you came in. I was in the Maserati office just to the right of the front door. I have followed your driver training at the various tracks through Tony Nevotti. I respect you greatly and really admire all the hard work you have done. I wish you all the best in the future
The total check was $1887.50. I cut the check on 1/28 in the AM. I had to close my books for the business. The average daily views were 315. I added 315 X's 3 for the days left and added that amount to the amount that the current views had.
Congratulations Peter. MAW is a great organization. Doing lots of great work. Just don't forget to spend some extra time with your own kids. They deserve it just as much.
