I would like to get some information on 0229EL. The car came from the factory as a RHD vehicle and was converted to left then back to right. I would very much appreciate any photo of the car as it left the factory. I do not know the serial number of the pic I have attached, if it is 0229EL it has been taken after a conversion to LHD.
    Thanks in advance.

Your picture shows 212 PF Coupe 0183EL, built upon a brand new chassis to replace a badly damaged car. I also believe the claim of 0229EL being a RHD in Raab's book is a clerical error. This is quite exactly the point where Ferrari production switched from RHD to LHD. Best wishes, Kare

Now I really messed it up; 0229EL and 0231EL seem to have been the last RHDs. Don't know anything about conversions. I think 0229EL was still RHD when it surfaced in 70's or 80's.

Thanks, Kare. All information here please update or advise if wrong. I have the record as date of completion 28 July 1952. Exterior color Azzurro Maserati (Enzos favourite color) and interior Connolly Leather #3238. Used by Enzo (he used alot of cars) went to Chinetti. Modified with a chevy engine and converted to LHD.

That is the date Pinin Farina started the construction of bodywork. Allow at least two months for completion. Best wishes, Kare

This photo should be of 0281EU.

It isn't, I'm pretty sure this is 0183EL, which was destined to Joao Gaspar. Note especially Portuguese register plates.

0281EU is a later style "flat roof" coupe.

    Best wishes, Kare

So you're implying 0183EL was the first PF 195/212 coupe model?

IMO the photo on post #1 shows 0241 (Hence the Lhd) restamped '0183'.

No. When wreck of 0183EL - presumably a 212 Ghia 2+2 - was returned to the factory, the sixth car in 212 PF Coupe series built upon a new chassis frame, was renumbered into 0183EL to replace it. Brand new car, but using an old serial number. Don't know if this was done to avoid new taxes, bureaucrazy or just for fun.

    Best wishes, Kare

Even if all sources do not seem to list a coachbuilder for this 212 Inter, I think it should be a long lost Touring Coupe.

    Best wishes, Kare

Right 0183 was a Ghia 2+2 but then what is the Rhd Vignale coupé once Peter Helm and ex-Ennio Gianaroli, also stamped 0183 ?

Sorry Kare, I missed your last post. 0183 is a Ghia 2+2 according to Ferrari.

I was somewhat mislead by 2 different interior photos accompanying photosets of 0183EL and 0281EU, where both have exactly the same interior. Which car would then have this interior? (copyright Gildo Mantovani)

Do you mean Ray or Peter Helm. Ray bought 0195EL a 195, not 212. This is getting a little confusing and off topic.

I am talking of Peter Helm and that Rhd Vignale coupé, also known as 0183 that once appeared in this forum (with an inverted cavallino on the grille which could make believe it was Lhd!).
So, confusing indeed but not off topic.

This is the interior of 0281EU. Nothing to do with 0183EL. Best wishes, Kare

Interesting photo. Any idea when it was taken? Is it from a book/brochure/other publication?

    Thank you.
