I ordered the car in Jan 2021 and was notified that my car won’t be built till 2023, does anyone know what features of any are being added to 2023 model?

The only fact I have confirmed is that Apple CarPlay is a standard feature on a 2023.

Wonder if it will be wireless as it is on Roma

My understanding is the interface is wireless.

keep in mind that the base price of the car was increased more than the cost of Apple CarPlay.

$9,000 USD increase to base MSRP

addition of Apple CarPlay eliminates a $4,000 USD option charge ( just FYI- the $4K charge was called out by Apple,Inc. as more than twice the cost of any other automotive manufacturer including Mercedes, Porsche, Koenigsegg, Pagani, and Bugatti.)

I love Ferrari cars, but, sometimes the arrogance is palpable.

Totally agreed with you about the higher mark up. I updated a 10 year old antiquated head unit on my Ferrari California (Made by Chrysler for Ferrari.) to this Alpine unit that offers Apply Car Play and Android Auto that can be accessed and controlled wirelessly with an iPhone or a Android phone, plus it has the back up camera HDMI plug that plugs into a back up camera. Image Unavailable, Please Login And it cost less than $1,000.

I got my 2022 F8 Last month which was a July build a month before the 2023 change over and it has the now mandatory CarPlay listed as a 0$ cost "option" although it works very well and has a dedicated USB port for your phone it is NOT wireless.

Just as an aside, I stuck a CarlinKit 4.0 in my 2022 Portofino M (with wired CarPlay) and it was basically zero-config wireless CarPlay out of the box.

Question. Must the iPhone be placed on top of the base unit?
    If “yes”, is there room?

If this question was about the CarlinKit, then no. I'm not sure what you mean by "base unit" so maybe I'm confused.

Let me rephrase the question ( watching too many court trials).

Yes, I’m asking about CarlinKit. After plugging the CarlinKit into the M’s USB port, does the cell phone need to rest on top of the CarlinKit? Or, can the cell phone be in the center console, for example.

The dongle which is quite small can stay in the middle compartment and phone can be anywhere - console or pocket. The negotiation speed and reliability leaves to be desired (this with Android Auto) but even with cable it isnt super snappy. That said 80 bucks well spent not having to cable up every time.

I agree that the reasonable cost is well worth it. And I learned a new word “dongle”. Thanks for the info!

Took delivery of 2022 Portofino M last week and it does not have carplay, even though we think we ordered it on the build sheet back in 2021. Any way to retrofit through the dealer?

The 2023 M comes standard with passenger display. I’m not sure about a 2022 model.
You should have a build sheet that you signed. Is it an option you selected?
And, no, it can not be added later without major dashboard modification.

I’m sorry. I misread your post.
I’m wondering if someone from Apple has the answer to your question?

The PDIS just got added to my 2023 build that will be built later this year. I was told it is now part of the base price, but assuming Ferrari just added the $5,900 to that base price. Does anyone know if that is a fact?

My dealer answered this question for me this week. Earlier this year Ferrari raised the 2023 PM price by $9k USD. But they also included PDIS and SMRT (Apple Play ) in the MSRP. Those 2 options were a total of $9903.00 on a 2022 PM.

Do you know what the 2023 base price is? I still don’t have that detail on my build.

2022 builds after April 1st added SMRT and raised the MSRP to $231k. We added PDIS to our build and it is fun when you have a passenger, SMRT was NOT part of our build but we got it anyway with the price increase. You won't get the invoice until it clears customs.

    2022 build:

Does anyone have a current 23 Portofino M ordering guide with all the options and prices they are willing to post here? There seems to be a ton of discrepancies on prices online for current base prices and no information regarding an options list with pricing. Anything from the latest pricing update/something current for an imminent order that I can use to configure a car in our budget would be appreciated (without having to reach out to our dealer). Thank you!
