I was told it was F1 ready when the FNR was there a couple of years ago .... one of the best tracks I've been on, and the facilities are brilliant
A friend wrote this to Mercedes. Hope it helps OLIO Dear Ms ****, I am writing to you having Chaired a board, as a F1 fan, Mercedes and Ferrari owner but more importantly as a business strategist. First, I would like to congratulate you on the outstanding performance of your 2020 F1 car. It must be disappointing to have its craftsmanship and ingenuity diminished in favour of acknowledgement of the driver – Lewis Hamilton. Whilst Lewis is highly deserving of his achievements (and knighthood) it is indeed puzzling to me and many of my business associates as to why, in this COVID-19 external environment, Daimler AG is investing, literally many millions of Euros, in supporting an individual to the detriment of the Mercedes brand (performance of the F1 car). How is this in the best interests of your shareholders? Hiring a new driver, who would no doubt bring another constructors title and championship to the Mercedes F1 team, would re-focus attention on the car – the engineering and most importantly, your brand. This would translate into higher sales and increased brand equity. Is your board not also concerned with respect to the politicising of sport detracting from your brand value? I have never previously heard association of modern day Germany with the Hitler regime – but these discussions are now being spurred though Lewis’ focus on differing races through Black Lives Matter. Sentiment amongst my F1 and business acquaintances about Lewis’ contract, his adverse effect on the Mercedes brand and a duty to shareholders prompted me to pen this email.
McLaren Formula 1 driver Lando Norris has tested positive for COVID-19 and is now self-isolating in Dubai. Norris is currently in the United Arab Emirates on holiday ahead of a planned training camp, but after recognising some symptoms, underwent a test for COVID-19 on Monday. McLaren confirmed in a statement that Norris had tested positive, and would now be self-isolating for the next two weeks. "McLaren can confirm that Lando Norris tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday in Dubai, where he is currently on holiday ahead of a planned training camp," a statement reads. "After recognising a loss of taste and smell, he was tested immediately and informed the team. In line with local regulations, he is now self-isolating at his hotel for 14 days. "He is currently feeling well and reports no other symptoms."

Confirmed that the Australian GP will be postponed until November 21. Changing the date was always likely, considering that the Australian Govt would not waive the quarantine requirements. However the November 21 date is still subject there being no quarantine requirements in Australia. Also likely that the Australian GP will permanently lose its place as the season opening GP. https://www.formula1.com/en/latest/article.f1-schedule-2021-bahrain-to-host-season-opener-as-australia-moves-later.4GpFlW2pc8sK9snFaVSHYg.html
I'm glad they're postponing it, but it would be a shame to lose the season opener. It's been good to see which teams have been sandbagging in testing and there's (at least for me) an air of excitement for a new season and the vague possibility of Ferrari actually doing well again. By November the championship is all but won these last 6 years
