His injury was not that critical and a recovery is well underway. He is not playing Rugby. He has 1.5 days of driving then 2 more weeks of rest before the first race. There is ample time for him to continue to recover and have more exams to confirm. Good for him how this has worked so far.
Certainly not critical, but no injuries are helpful. Something like a broken jaw may well cause pain just putting a crash helmet on. Only Alonso and his doctor will know the extent. Fortunately it's nowhere near Massa's level of injury.
Toto says they're bringing a secret weapon to testing. This secret weapon wasn't added to the W12 launch as they did not want to give it away. Maybe they'll release tomorrow, Saturday or Sunday. My guess, and I haven't seen pictures of this secret weapon, is: 1) the W12's rake angle will be raised significantly 2) due to the raised rake angle, more diffuser vanes will be added and will be more pronounced to create more downforce in the rear since the 2021 regs have cut the floor in the rear tire area.
And I'm sure that their new secret weapon will be just as controversial as the DAS system but the FIA will still let them use it and then ban it for 2022
If this article is to be believed, Wolff was kidding. He talks about looking for gains worth hundredths of a second instead of tenths because of the restrictions imposed this year. He could be bluffing and I read that Merc are staying on after the tests for their filming day so maybe they are hiding something. https://www.planetf1.com/news/toto-wolff-w12-hidden-floor/
Well, I hope you're right. F1 is in dire need for REAL competition, not another class of 1 "championship"
