He wasted the milk! :(
Well, I'm disappointed. I'm not unhappy Sato won but crossing the finish line under caution is a let down. I think Dixon would have won but that's the way the cookie crumbles.
the damage to the pit lane attenuator would have taken a long time to repair-as in, may not have been finished before dark
Oh I completely agree. It was clear the race was over as soon as he hit the barrier. But its disappointing that the race didn't finish under green.
Without the crash, it would have depended on who did a better job getting around the back markers. It took Taco a while to get around that one car that was using the whole track, but then Dix would have had trouble with him, too. The other two seemed to be driving a cleaner line. But once that crash spread debris all over the pit entrance, even red-flagging for a sprint finish was pretty much off the map. But I was pretty happy to see those two finish 1-2. (Especially after Taco kept getting mugged on restarts. )
Who's "we"? Speak for your self. I certainly don't miss her....She did sheet in IndyCar and the same in NASCAR. Don't let the door hit you on the way out Danica..... Image Unavailable, Please Login (tho' there's nothing back there to hit....same as the front)
She has a twin doing the 500 announcing that doesn't? The woman on the screen wasn't the 100ish pound Danica. Seriously, 'probably why she wore the outfit she wore today (covered her fat arms and thighs) after seeing herself doing Carb Day (when they were showing). She only took the long sleeve top off today because it was too warm....she would have left it on otherwise.
Give her a break. She did win an IndyCar race and finished as high as 3rd in the Indy 500. She once sat on the pole in the Daytona 500 and finished in 8th. Yes, she did under-achieve in NASCAR but it wasn't all terrible.
I do "give her a break". I just don't give those with such high praise for an "also ran" (both IndyCar and NASCAR) one. The two sexes are are supposed to be "equal" these days so Danica, having the weight advantage she had, teeny thing that she was, didn't impress real race fans a bit. Just "because" she is female and took space in the two series is not cause to celebrate. Performance would have helped that cause.
Just watched this today wonder who actually started first out of the pits, if Sato sped up to stop Rossi and Rossi started first Sato should have been penalized? Dont know the pitstop rules as to who has priority
Danica was a novelty both in IndyCar and Nascar. Whatever. She made a lot of money and she's still cashing in on her novelty factor as a racing commentator saying rather obvious things. I doubt if she could keep up with Townsend Bell if she had to do color commentary throughout a race.
In honor of Taku's win, I brought home some Hibachi Filet Mignon for dinner from my local Japanese eatery! Domo arigato, Takuma!
poor Sato "only" won $1.375 million, lowest purse since 1991. https://www.indystar.com/story/sports/motor/2020/08/24/indy-500-purse-how-much-takuma-sato-earned-second-win/3428977001/ on the plus side that's like 20 billion Yen
