I have no facts on this but I'm excited if it materializes. What do you guys think? Are you excited? Will it be made? What are you selling to possibly buy one? How many will be made? If not the F40, what Icona is Ferrari making/releasing in August? Will it be better than the original F40? The best part is this Icona will have a roof and therefore be street legal here.

Ferrari is mining the back catalogue with a vengeance and already used GTO several times.
F40 is a later thought and 1300 builds instead of 36...

GTO is a respected but ambiguous title. F40 is very specific.
IPO, an suv, a new model line reminiscent of BMW, and a renamed F40.
im officially done. This is a new ferrari, one i dont care about - 1,000 hp doesn't make something cool.

What high school car drawing competition did they pull this thing from? Looks terrible. What's up with the Corvette taillights and KITT Firebird Trans Am interior?

Man!!! that thing looks niceeee! That is one good looking design. Finally a decent looking Ferrari. Hope it makes it into production. I don't know what most of you guys are talking about. Definitely old school mentality here.

I don't believe for a second there will be an F40 Icona. And if there were, why on earth would someone pay Icona money (for a car presumably based on the F8T/Pista?) when you could buy the real thing and possibly even pocket some change (in the UK).

IMO redesigning an older successful and beloved model on a completely new chassis/engine is more of a money grab and does not do a proper service to the original model or the reputation of the new designer. I realize many will disagree because of the value proposition of another numbered edition. Maybe create an entirely new car design that promises to be Iconic instead.

may be it's not a reinterpretation of f40 but will've the essence of f40; raw, agile, light, nimble....

I am a little less emotional on this. I remember the launch of the F40... no one called it a rolling sculpture either back then. Today most of us love it... I don’t like the square lights (although I hear BB does have square lights) but I think it could look quite nice in the metal. Let’s see

Ferrari World Design Contest against Pininfarina?

Aggresivite and beauty do not go together.
Besides I find the latest creations of Ferrari too much neurotic, probably this aggressive character.

Pininfarina always subjugates as much by its purity.

    1. Beauty is subjective.
    2) A design is supposed to be fit for purpose.
Behold, the MiG 31, the fastest combat aeroplane ever deployed; a Mach 3.2 interceptor, capable of destroying enemy targets 300 km away. Is it pretty? Hello no! It is beautiful though!!!

It's a literal translation from the French "bonjour les degats"
What Christian probably meant was "here comes trouble" or simply "looking dangerous"

I think 2020 is too soon since they have not even started building the Monza Icona but a F40 Icona based on the upcoming hybrid V8 (what is being called the Big Brother on Ferrarichat) launched in 2022 for the 35th anniversary of F40 makes sense to me (please note that this is just IMHO and I don't have any inside information). The only issue I can think of is that the timing will be very close to the launch of the next Ferrari Supercar.
As far as pricing goes, since this will be a limited run of 500, the pricing premium vs the original can be justified.
