Hi, I own a 2020 Ferrari 812 Superfast and bought a Foxwell 809BT ODBII scanner to monitor faults and other data (it has no problems at all!). The scanner works on 1000's of car models including Ferrari, Lamborghini and so on.

It is a brand-new model and worked fine on my 911, Lambo and stuff. There is a long list of Ferraris that are supported, including V12's like Lusso, 599 etc. However, the 812 is missing in the list.

I already contacted the Vendor, Foxwell. Is there another model that I can use that has the same/close electronics or is there a different Scanner model that I should have bought?

    Thanks!

Here is an update: I confirmed with Support that the 812 is not covered by the Foxwell, as a matter of fact by none of their model. I returned the unit.

I then did some research and found the Autel Maxi Check MX900 series covers most old and new Ferrari models. Their website actually let you search the exact I Model of car you have. I ordered the MX900TS.

I checked on the website, it is included specifically. And that is the only brand I found that includes that model.

I tested the Autel MX900TS just to find out that every possible car BUT Ferrari is supported, although on the website the device is specifically listed. After chatting with Support I received the below answer.

I now ordered the MK906PRO and will update my findings next week.

    [SUPPORT]
After confirming with Autel engineer team, we are sorry to say that MX900TS itself is not compatible with any FERRARI vehicles in diagnostic functions.
Because MX900TS has the same-level diagnostic function as MX808, which is the entry-level tablet in Autel diagnostic tablet scanners.

Only the MP-series scanner such as MP808BT PRO/MP808S PRO/MP900 or higher-level tablet has the ability to be compatible with FERRARI vehicle.

Dear friend, you have purchased the MX900TS wrongly. Please don't worry, you can contact amazon customer service center to return MX900TS back for a full refund.

PS: Please kindly note that there is no one perfect scanner in the market that can be universally compatible with all the cars for all the functions. The functions are not universally compatible with every car. So, on our product page, we always suggest to our customers that they should check the function compatibility with us before purchase. The non-universally compatibility is the feature of all the scanners, not just for Autel brand scanners. Besides, some functions also depend on the actual condition of the car. Sincerely hope for your kind understanding.

On your FERRARI car, MP808BT PRO or MK906 PRO or MK906 PRO-TS support the basic diagnostic functions such as read/erase full system codes, read live data and Active Test(bi-directional control) functions. But service functions/special functions are not universally compatible. If you need specific service functions for your car, please let us know and we will help you check the function compatibility before purchase.

If you mainly need diagnostic functions(Not need the TPMS function), you may consider the MP808BT PRO or MK906 PRO.

If you both need TPMS and diagnostic functions, you may consider the MK906 PRO-TS:

Have you purchased the correct Autel scanner ? either the MP808 or the MK906, I am curious to see if you got any feedback on it.

Yes, I finally found the correct Autel scanner after sending the others back, the Autel MaxiCOM MK906 PRO. Basically according to support it comes down the Pro Series and I was surprised to not only see the 812 Ferrari, but also the Lamborghini Revuelto.

Of course you get what you pay for, $1369.00. Its still better than north of $3K like other professional scanners. After all we drive Ferraries. :p

Yes, I just tested the Unit on my 812 Superfast by reading all the codes and resetting for testing purposes. It all worked fine. Unfortunately, that is the only Ferrari I have so I cannot speak for a 512TR.
