The defense at least got some points, the kicker was bad. But yeah, Gurley was supposed to get me a lot more points for sure. Theilen is the number 3 ranked WR for the season, so obviously I am playing him. He is also, generally, a very consistent point scorer. Diggs is #15 and a bit more up and down, but he is way better then anyone I could pick up during the season. They averaged 24 points per week between them, which is pretty strong. My third receiver was Sanders, until he was injured, and he was averaging about 10 points, so my weekly WR output was about 34 points.
I won my first playoff game, I will be totally stunned if I win the next one. I have Mahommes - who is great, but I keep waiting for him to have a bad game, I rather expected it to come against Baltimore, and I have Philip Rivers - who SHOULD have had a zillion points against Cincinnati - but didn't. What I need is a decent TE - Jimmy Graham is totally useless.
So up for regulation... FerrariChat I: Blitzkrieg and SnakeBite, but not surprise they were both the least active through the season. Image Unavailable, Please Login FerrariChat II: Bounty and Robb's, both of these teams not very active either. Image Unavailable, Please Login We'll see the two teams in the FerrariChat II Championship will have first shot at moving up.
Well I'm back and see I got booted in the first round in both leagues. Actually it didn't matter if I tried to manage my teams since all the bench players sucked worse than the starters. Hey Tom, what the heck did Amari do last week? 39 points! And to think you coulda had him.
LOL. I asked myself the same dang thing while listening to that game! 39 points was a month's production from my WR corps! I also dropped Derrick Henry a couple of weeks earlier. I'm a regular swami! If "ifs" and "buts" were candy and nuts, we'd all have a merry Christmas. To quote Dandy Don! T
that was a terrible showing by all in the Championship bracket, but I'll take it. Sorry El Chupacabra. on to Finals!
Yeah, that was a pretty pathetic performance by my squad. What a way to follow up a 125 point performance the week prior.
FChat2 was pretty similar this week. I’m lucky to have just squeaked by Uccelli in an equally lame outing. Looking forward to meeting Clutch Pedal for the championship.
what a weird season for me. Started out 3-0 in FC1, dropped five in a row, then caught fire and scored over 120 points in three straight games which righted the ship somewhat. Ended up squeaking into the playoffs in the last spot. Got knocked out in the first round obviously. Meanwhile in FC2 I ended up 6-6-1 (which put me, fittingly, in 6th place), but I'm in the championship game somehow despite not starting Mike Williams last week who scored 28 pts.
I asked the same thing prior to the season, but if you add a 'Flex' position, you must add one more to the 'Bench' position or we will all run out of guys due to injuries late in the season. You can also add an 'IR' position - I think you can put a guy on it and it does not count against your roster - you can add a guy until the 'IR' guy comes off of IR. I think. I think at the very least you should add one more 'bench' position... And I NEVER expected to be in this position.
If we are making suggestions for next year, here are mine. I think if we had a buy in, people might stay more interested. In FC1, even with just a couple weeks left, virtually everyone had a shot to make the playoffs, so it seems that the people not taking care of their teams were not really interested in the first place. Secondly, I realized that with this format, finishing 8th is exactly the same as finishing first. Some leagues have a bye for first and second the first week of playoffs. This seems like a fair benefit for winning the regular season. I realize this means 2 more teams don't make the playoffs but maybe that keeps the interest up as it is not as easy to make the playoffs.
I'd definitely be up for making it money league. Doesn't have to be much of a buy in to make it interesting. Also, in another league of mine the winner of the consolation bracket gets 1st pick the following year. So even those who don't make the playoffs have something to play for.
Congrats to all the top finishers. Both leagues were mostly active and competitive. We'll keep doing it.
