Losing Fleury at this point may be a huge advantage. Saban is gaining some confidence and the team seems to be playing better defense to help him out. They are really limiting the shots on goal. And, Fleury needed the rest. Lets hope his injury stays day to day though....
I don't think Fleury is all that injured. He has a kid being born any day now and needs the rest. He was at the game last night and greeted Subban in the tunnel after the shutout. He looked and moved fine.

The Bruins are back on a bit of a roll, winning the last two games against the Islanders and Devils 5-0 and 5-1 respectively. I was afraid I jinxed the rest of the season when they went on a 3 game losing streak after I mentioned the 19 game point streak a couple weeks ago.
T B Lightning's Yanni Gourde gets a two game suspension for his Thursday hit on Staal's coconut - forfeits pay of $10,753: https://www.nhl.com/news/lightning-forward-yanni-gourde-suspended/c-306046182?tid=277549076
Neal. That's the hit I mentioned a few posts ago. Match penalty. Staal had been back I think 3 or 4 games after missing 30+ due to concussion.
The Coyotes were red hot then fell into a tailspin. 8 power plays in the last 4 games and only 7 shots on goal. Hard road to get to the playoffs now with 2 teams on top of you.
One of the longest goals ever at full strength. If he missed the net this would have been icing! https://www.nhl.com/video/reinhart-scores-20th-goal/t-277350912/c-67202003
That's when a goalie wants to lift up the ice and crawl under it! Probably as long a full-strength goal you're likely to see.
someone may find this if the video is still around, but in a Maple Leafs Flyers game, I want to say maybe mid 70's the great Bernie Parent let one get by him from the red line. Similar last second bounce. Tamas????
I still remember in my career we had a penalty kill and I was in my own zone. Curled behind the net and posted up a bit to buy some time and get a change for our forwards. Came out the left side and took a slap shot which floated until about the blue line. Two bounces later it went into the net. One of the funniest goals I've ever put in.
That is way before my time my friend. A real player would know to always play a bounce just in case. Sounds like a miserable one from my leaf point of view though!
The Islanders did finally clinch their playoff spot, but they made their fans sweat! I don't expect too much in the playoffs, but at least the team finally appears to be on the upswing.
Good luck to your Isles Jim. The East playoffs are going to be a scramble. Columbus has finally put it all together and the Pens, even without Malkin are tightening up. Did I mention the Flyers stink? Everyone here hoping Canes can finally make the post season
There is no question that Tampa is the best team in the league but few of the best teams in the league have won the cup. Still, they look pretty awesome.
