I know most of you probably are past the age and an old fart like myself now, but thought to list this rare thing on here anyway.

    Make: MV Agusta
    Model: F3 800
    Year: 2017
    Mileage: 1,9XX

For sale is my F3 800 in mint condition, pretty much brand new. Does not need anything except gas. Clean title, never wrecked, very well taken care of. Located around Northern Virginia.

Nothing wrong with it, and is ready for new owner. Comes with 2 keys and owners manual. Not looking to haggle, so am listing at my final sell price at $11,000 - I'm firm on this price. If it doesn't sell, I'll keep it. It's been an excellent bike.

    Come get it!

I'm 33, still light, and now I am married (happily hehe). It just doesn't make sense for me to have this thing. I don't ride it, I don't have the heart for it, I don't need the adrenaline rush anymore. Maybe that's what happens as you get older. Let someone else enjoy. Never needed a garage queen.

I am considerably older, have a full set of natural hair, married, with a gut, and my organ donor bike, is even faster :D.

It was amusing. I went out street riding for a day or two after I purchased the bike. Just like old times. Some 20 something y/o kid wanted to exchange #'s, to text me for upcoming group rides.

An English motorcycle rag did an article on 70+ y/o blokes who still ride crotch rockets, on the street.

It's really difficult to permanently dismount these after you have experienced riding.

Just wait until you hit 50 and again want to ride.

I agree - I lost count how many bikes I've owned, so letting go of this one is not an unfamiliar feeling. What is going to be a strange feeling is that I will likely not buy another sportsbike again, even if way later down the line I get a cruiser or something else.

One aspect of me letting go of this bike is where I live. In Northern Virginia there are a TON of cops around. These cops give out reckless tickets like Starbucks gives out coffee. I'm not running from the cops like many other people that I know own sportsbikes....too risky, too much to lose. I'll take the ticket and will hire a lawyer to drop the reckless.

By the way - a reckless is a Class 1 Misdemeanor in Virginia.

It makes around 148HP and only weighing around 400 pounds, this thing is fast. I used to own both this one and the Ducati 899. To my surprise I would beat the 899 every single time in a race.

Like Ralph above, I take some ribbing for "being on a Ducati" at my age...….62, that's not old...LOL
I make the wise guy buy a round for the bar!!

Of course yesterday was the one year, since my last and most severe crash.
I'm not planning on THAT again.

    Still on the Ducs though.

    This is lovely, GLWS!
Any new bike will blow you right off of it, compared to anything we came up on...

I am interested but do you think this is an appropriate bike for a first time rider?

Oh Jesus..only if you started with a Rider course at Honda and went real slow on your way to the Post Box.
    For months....

This has "liter bike" levels of performsnce and would smear you a quarter mile down the highway if you made a mistake at speed....HTH

    Well, I had conditions!!

Take the Driver Training on a 250 Honda, that will help your insurance, and then take it easy.

That does bring up a good point, you can get a good view of Risk Ratio by calling your insurance agent and asking for a quote in your ZIP Code.
My rates for three Ducatis in downtown Houston: $$$$

They figure on my death, or it rolling away at midnight into a white unmarked van.

It's like a Ferrari, just because it CAN do 160MPH between stoplights, doesn't mean you have to drive that way.

I recently destroyed a 848 EVO CORSA.....the replacement out in Cali had a buyer as you, and the owner said "No" to the Test Drive.
But I guess if he had had $10,000 cash, who knows.

Bikes are kind of "one level up" from even the fastest of cars.
They threw my wreck into an Impound in Austin that was FULL of nice bikes.....that were done.

Thank you so much for taking the time to walk me through.

I have my eye on a ducati monster 797 at the nearby manhattan dealership that is offering a sale and this caught my eye.

I am gonna take the time to take classes on how to work on the bike and also try to find a reasonable starting place. I don’t really need the fastest.

However you bring up a great point I should call an insurance company to figure out costs and things I can do in my power.

Really just trying to learn the best steps and window shop along the way...

They have a replacement for my bike in Manhattan!
But they won't call me back, might be sold...less than 2K miles.

First closed for Covid, now maybe burned down??

If you are a normal person with a multi line car insurance policy they are not too bad.
But when you calculate the rate against the value they are not expecting it to last long....LOL

At least a Monster lacks the body panels.

Dropping a ST3 or a EVO destroys a lot of expensive Italian plastic.
Maybe we better get back to this sweet MV!

I would go for it. My first bike was a ZX636R. The F3 800 is very easy to ride and has great balance. The electronics help too with ABS and traction control ... of course when I got my first sports bike, it had not of those.
