The Dodgers are great. Sadly, the Astros are falling apart. I was hoping for a Dodgers-Astros world series. However, at this rate, I don't see the Astros making it to the World Series. But, if they do, they won't be able to touch the Dodgers. I don't think anyone can.

^^ It is important for a team to enter the post season HOT.

A good team with an excellent season record can be beat by a HOT team, which barely qualified for the post season.

In addition, some unproductive players step up in the post season and other players never perform, in the post season.

Agreed, especially a relatively young team with little postseason experience.

The Dodgers are not perfect. Middle relief is poor. Two of their starters are living off of Dodger home runs to save them.

The Dodgers are the best in baseball at come from behind victories. You might say that is great (it's awesome now to be a fan) but it means they fall behind a lot too.

What the Dodgers have more than any other team is 3 great starters, good defense, one solid closer, awesome long ball hitting through 8 players in the line up, and depth.

Formidable but the pressure will be on to perform.

The best thing is that in the post season this year they won't need Kershaw to go out on 3 days rest.

What's with all the Dodgers doom and Astros angst? Enjoy your historical seasons. It could be worse, you could be rooting for the Mets!

They'll get the 2 wild card spots, and one will get a chance in a real series.

My wife told me about that this AM. I haven't read up the specifics, but on the surface from what I've seen, that is embarrassing, especially with the other Texas sports teams pulling together to help support relief efforts. Convenience, $$$, whatever the excuse, when your brothers and sisters are in need, you do what it takes to help...T

I read something around the same time that the Rangers GM had double downed on his comments.

The Dodgers are in a real tail spin. If they face the Diamondbacks now they will lose. This team has just fallen apart overnight.

All NL playoff teams seem to be scuffling, more or less. AL teams are a little bit hotter on the way into the playoffs. I think it's going to be Cleveland - best balance of hitting, pitching and defense IMO...T

Crazy in smart way how girardi used relievers to finish game bc yanks won. But why not use starter? I could see green in 1st with 2 men on but then go with starter in 2nd like gray, sabathia, or tanaka. Then he has pen for clev. Now its just betances whos lost it and chapman. Rest are shot for tomorrow. Was 1st baseball game in years I was riveted to

Great game but L O N G. May be the longest game l have seem withour weather delay or extra innings. Of course l recorded so l could
    FF through all the nonsense.

Girardi was magnificent. Judge was spectacular. Yanks just had a superior bullpen which was not exactly a secret. Everybody can pitch the next game. What was the biggest Yankee pitch count? 45?

    Loved it.

yes baseball on tv must be dvr'd. 4 hrs easily compressed into 2 without missing a beat. (same for last 5 min of nba game which could take half hr)

IIRC longest 9-inning games are in the 4 and change hour range, so if you get close to that, you're doing something "special."
