The sooner Bernie goes the better - it that article is correct and people only agreed to the revised format to stop him implementing reversed grids then I don't know what to say

In the early and mid 2000s, before pit lane speed limits, tire limits, refueling was in play:: I would say the cars were close to full on all the time.

No, but I accept maybe more than now.

A racing driver is never flat out all the time. All they want and need to do is win the race. Why risk a mistake or breaking the machine going stupid hard all the time?

The goal is to go just faster than the opposition so you win.

Proof via example is the 1998 Hungarian GP when MS was asked to belt in some qualifying laps for something like half the race. Yes he did this but the fact that they were able to ask the best driver of the period to go faster shows that even he was not flat out all the time.

It's all Bernie - he doesn't want to revert back to the old system. He wants the top ten to be reverse grid

Qualy will preside as normal until q3 then everyone will go as slow as possible to try and qualify tenth. He's losing his mind

He's just saying the right thing so he keeps in F1.

What I find amusing is that they have given up on the race being interesting and now F'ing with qualifying. Only the serious F1 people watch qualifying anyway so why are they worrying about the empty track ... serious F1 people will stare at an empty track for hours wondering about tyre marks, wear, cornering line options, kerbs, camber, etc.

I have to agree with Toil, Bernie has to go. The more he does the worst it becomes and we are now seeing what 40 years of meddling has resulted in. Yes I know he does not make all the decisions but he has changed the attitudes or all involved into ignoring the sport side and only making business decisions.

F1 should not be a great career to improve your personal wealth. That is how those involved view it now ... thanks F'ing Bernie.

Defeated? What two WDC did he defeat in the same car? Enlighten us please.

2007, Hamilton ended the season with the same amount of points as Alonso, 109 pts.

2010-2012, Button held his own against Hamilton, who many said would embarrass Button when it was announced he was going to McLaren. In fact, Button scored more points over the course of 3 seasons together.

The "new" qualif system wasn't bad and reflected the strength of the field, no surprise there.

Q1 and Q2 were OK, just Q3 need to be revised.

Now they want to change it AGAIN after one race !!!
