I just put up a gallery on my website. Pretty much the same pics that I posted here with a few different ones. They are a bit bigger and less compressed so they look a little better if anyone wants to check them out. I wish I had the time to go through them all and pick out the very best but its time to move on to the next project. I don't know when I'll get to the video but by that time it will be irrelevant. I'm glad others are posting pics and sharing their experience. So far there hasn't been any complaints from anyone that made it to the track and I hope that's enough motivation for you guys to try and make it next year. A shout out to fellow FChat member , Mike Hedlund. He is in the beautiful Martini livery car #8. I was really pulling for Rubens, in car #7. But, it did not pan out for the F1 Drivers. Fisichella did not fair much better. It was good to see the Brumos colors back in the field. They did finish 3rd. At least the M. Lauda ( niki's boy) Aston #98 in the Gulf Colors finished the race. But they ran only 50 laps at the start then worked on the car for another 65 laps, but they were there when the flag dropped. I had a great time. Attendance seemed to be down a bit. The racing was excellent. Cold Saturday night, especially out on the Party Porch. The only picture of note on my crappy iPhone-LOL. WTR moved to last in class for drive time violation that resulted in that last minute pit stop for a driver change. that's a real kick in the nuts for both full season and NAEC points Wayne Taylor Racing Loses Rolex 24 Podium Finish, Points Over Drive Time Issue - Sportscar365
I think what they need is someone who can work a stopwatch and/or calculator (but yes, for the 24 a fourth driver makes it much easier to work out driver schedules, particularly with the 4 in 6 rule)
It seems incredible that WTR didn't realize that Jordan was nearing his allowed time in the car and now we come to find out that not only was he over, IMSA knew it and is penalizing the team for it. Now, everyone just comes off looking amateur. Crappy way to lose a podium if not a race. BHW
He is still with the Audi team But he would be one hell of an asset for any 24h team - even if he isnt driving.
I find two things about this curious: 1) the announcement was made 10 days after the race...I would think that the race stewards would know real time how much time a driver has logged in the car (as I understand it, a chip in their helmet headset has a unique identifier, so they know who is in what car and for how long). why it took 5 days for WTR and 10 days for BAR1 to be penalized is beyond me. I'll give them some time do a proper investigation, but I'd think that would take no more than 24-36 hours... 2) the penalty given to BAR1 is what the rulebook calls for...this is after WTR received a modified/reduced penalty for their drive time violation. obviously it's a bit different, WTR went over time on one driver, whereas BAR1 didn't log enough time for one of their Ams; but still, if the penalty is the same for each infraction, Barfield and IMSA just took a huge credibility hit here. (I have yet to confirm 100% that all drive time violations have the same penalty standards per the rulebook).
I'm with you on both, I don't understand why it took so long either. Maybe the team tried to dispute it or something.
My first trip to the Rolex 24, and I'll most definitely be back. Aside from Canadian & Belgian GPs this was probably my favorite race experience.
