While I don't normally work on late model/modern cars and don't know all their features that well, I was asked to do some services on one like in the title and just saw a feature on it that made me curious.

I've seen cars, including later model Ferraris, in which when you operate the door, if it's window is up and you open it, the glass drops down slightly before the door starts moving out and when you shut the door, the already up glass rises slightly, presumably to create better seal.

On this Porsche in question, similar thing appears to happen when the glass is all the way down and the door is operated, but in somewhat opposite directions, i.e when the door is shut the glass is completely down, inside the door, but when opened, it comes up slightly (1/2" ?).
Reason for this is ... ???

    So nobody here knows ?
Is this common feature in other year models (of Porsche) and/or other modern cars ?
    Just curious.
